Angels acquired LHP Tyler Thomas and 1B Evan White from the Braves for C Max Stassi and INF David Fletcher.
The 27-year-old southpaw made 24 appearances in the minor leagues with the Mets in 2023, compiling a 2.86 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 41/13 K/BB ratio over 34 2/2 innings between Double-A Binghampton and Triple-A Syracuse. He was then plucked by the Braves in the minor league portion of the Rule 5 draft on Wednesday. He’ll add bullpen depth for the Halos.

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Braves have agreed to acquire Max Stassi and David Fletcher from the Angels in exchange for Evan White and Tyler Thomas.
Interesting. The Braves already have a dynamic duo behind the plate in Sean Murphy and Travis d’Arnaud, so this could indicate that Alex Anthopolous has something else brewing as well — perhaps to flip Stassi elsewhere the same way that he did with Marco Gonzales and now Evan White after his deal with the M’s to acquire Jarred Kelenic. Fletcher should fall into a utility infielder role with the Braves.
