Orioles placed OF Tyler O’Neill on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 24, with neck inflammation.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters prior to Saturday’s doubleheader against the Tigers that it’s expected to be a minimum 10-day stint for O’Neill to address a lingering neck issue. It’ll be Ramón Laureano taking over in right field with Dylan Carlson coming up from Triple-A Norfolk to take his spot on Baltimore’s active roster.

Tyler O’Neill (neck) remains out of the lineup for the opening contest of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Tigers.
It’s unclear whether O’Neill will be available for Saturday’s nightcap at Comerica Park, but he’ll sit out the front-end of the doubleheader. The 29-year-old slugger missed Thursday’s showdown against the Nationals due to neck soreness, which has been a lingering issue for him the past few weeks. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Ramón Laureano patrolling right field in his absence.

Tyler O’Neill was held out of the Orioles’ starting lineup for Thursday’s battle against the Nationals due to recurring neck soreness.
It’s the same issue that shelved O’Neill last week. There’s a chance that the neck issue is playing a role in his struggles at the plate, as he’s slashing a woeful .215/.284/.385 on the season with just two homers, 10 RBI and a 21/5 K/BB ratio in 74 plate appearances. The Orioles may be better served giving him a short stint on the injured list to get the issue resolved rather than attempting to play through it.

Tyler O’Neill finished 0-for-4 in the shutout loss to the Nationals on Tuesday.
On another ugly night for the Orioles, O’Neill was one of a couple of guys who were more unlucky than bad. At least, he had balls in play with xBAs of .690 and .520 go for outs. O’Neill is in a 3-for-32 slump over his last nine games, though he still has right around a 110 OPS+ for the year. He’s definitely worth sticking with while he’s healthy.

Tyler O’Neill (neck) went 0-for-4 on Friday against the Reds in his return to the lineup.
O’Neill struck out three times in his return to Baltimore’s lineup following a two-game absence due to neck discomfort. It doesn’t appear that he’ll wind up needing any additional time off over the weekend.

Tyler O’Neill (neck) is hitting third and playing right field against the Reds on Friday.
O’Neill missed Wednesday and Thursday’s contests with tightness in his neck. The outfielder is back, so Ryan O’Hearn will take his usual seat against southpaws with Andrew Abbott on the bump for the Reds.

Tyler O’Neill (neck) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against the Guardians.
O’Neill was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with neck discomfort, and the 29-year-old will unsurprisingly miss at least one more game with the issue. Ryan O’Hearn will be the right fielder, and Jordan Westburg will be the designated hitter in O’Neill’s absence.

Tyler O’Neill is day-to-day with neck soreness.
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde didn’t seem too concerned regarding the issue after O’Neill was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup. The 29-year-old slugging corner outfielder could wind up missing Thursday’s series finale against Cleveland, but he doesn’t appear to be in jeopardy of missing a too much time.

Tyler O’Neill was scratched from Wednesday’s lineup with neck discomfort.
O’Neill is no stranger to lingering physical issues at this point in his career, so the Orioles aren’t going to take any chances here, especially this early in the year. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be struggling Ramón Laureano taking over in left field with Heston Kjerstad shifting to cover right field on Wednesday night against the Guardians.

Tyler O’Neill is not in the lineup for Monday’s series opener agains the Diamondbacks.
O’Neill takes a seat for just the second time this season as the Orioles get left-handed slugger Ryan O’Hearn into the lineup to face righty Zac Gallen.
