Brewers reassigned LHP Thomas Pannone, LHP Bruce Zimmermann, LHP Tyler Jay, C David Garcia, 1B Ernesto Martinez Jr., 2B Anthony Seigler, INF Cooper Pratt, OF Luis Lara and OF Jimmy Herron to minor league camp.
No surprises in this round of cuts for the Brewers. Pannone might have had a slight chance of claiming a spot, but he’s dealing with an injury. Pratt, arguably the team’s best prospect, impressed by going 5-for-14 with three doubles.

Brewers signed LHP Tyler Jay to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The Brewers designated Jay for assignment at the beginning of January and he was claimed off of waivers by the Mariners. However, the Mariners added reliever Will Klein a couple of weeks later and designated Jay for assignment themselves. The 30-year-old is now back with Milwaukee after posting a 4.70 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and a 6/6 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings in five appearances between the Mets and Brewers. He also had a 3.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 56 2/3 Triple-A innings between the Mets and Brewers, so he should be solid organizational depth.

Mariners LHP Tyler Jay elected free agency.
Jay will test the open market instead of accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Tacoma. The 30-year-old southpaw was removed from Seattle’s 40-man roster last week after the club acquired reliever Will Klein from the Athletics. He made five relief appearances last season between the Brewers and Mets.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #54
Mariners designated LHP Tyler Jay for assignment.
Jay has been jettisoned from Seattle’s 40-man roster to make room for newly acquired reliever Will Klein. The 30-year-old southpaw was claimed off waivers earlier this month from Milwaukee after making five relief appearances last season between the Brewers and Mets.

Mariners claimed LHP Tyler Jay off waivers from the Brewers.
Jay was designated for assignment by Milwaukee last week after posting a 4.70 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and a 6/6 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings in five appearances between the Mets and Brewers. He also had a 3.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 56 2/3 Triple-A innings between the Mets and Brewers, so the Mariners will hope he can provide some bullpen depth for them in 2025.

Brewers designated LHP Tyler Jay for assignment.
The Brewers needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster after acquiring Grant Anderson from the Rangers on Thursday and unfortunately Jay pulled the short straw this time around. The 30-year-old left-hander broke through to the big leagues for the first time in 2024, posting a 4.70 ERA, 1.96 WHIP and a 6/6 K/BB ratio over 7 2/3 innings in five appearances between the Mets and Brewers. There’s a chance that he’ll pass through waivers unclaimed and continue to serve as extra bullpen depth for the Brewers.

Brewers optioned LHP Tyler Jay to Triple-A Nashville.
Jay was up for a couple days with the Brewers as extra left-handed relief depth as they navigated the trade deadline. The 30-year-old journeyman southpaw has made five relief appearances this season between the Mets and Brewers.

Brewers optioned LHP Tyler Jay to Triple-A Nashville.
Jay is dropped from the active roster with Nick Mears officially activated after Mears was traded from Colorado to Milwaukee. Jay will serve as organizational depth with a chance to rejoin the Brewers before the season ends.

Brewers recalled LHP Tyler Jay from Triple-A Nashville.
Jay was acquired last weekend from the Mets in a small trade and will join Milwaukee’s bullpen ahead of Saturday’s game against the Marlins with fellow southpaw Bryan Hudson landing on the injured list with an oblique strain. The 30-year-old lefty made three relief appearances earlier this year for New York.
