Royals optioned LHP Noah Cameron, RHP Eric Cerantola, and OF Tyler Gentry to Triple-A Omaha and reassigned RHP Anthony Simonelli, RHP Junior Fernandez and C Kyle Hayes to minor league camp.
Gentry will likely see time for the Royals, but likely as a backup outfielder. Cameron and Cerantola both could make appearances in roles that offer no fantasy intrigue in 2025.

Royals optioned OF Tyler Gentry to Triple-A Omaha.
Gentry will get the boot from the active roster with the Royals adding Tommy Pham and Robbie Grossman off waivers Friday. Gentry could get another shot to play before the season ends, but it seems more likely he competes for a spot in 2025.
  • KC Right Fielder #27
Tyler Gentry is starting in right field and batting ninth for the Royals in Game 1 of Monday’s doubleheader.
Adam Frazier has been the usual starter in right field, but with the Guardians likely turning to left-handed pitchers Logan Allen or Joey Cantillo as the bulk reliever in Game 1 of the doubleheader, the Royals will start right-handed-hitting Gentry. The 25-year-old has hit 13 homers while stealing five bases in 371 plate appearances in Triple-A but doesn’t figure to play regularly for the Royals.

Royals recalled OF Tyler Gentry from Triple-A Omaha.
Gentry will have a chance to make his MLB debut. The 25-year-old has hit 13 homers while stealing five bases in 371 plate appearances for the Storm Chasers. There’s not a ton of fantasy intrigue in his profile.

Royals optioned OF Tyler Gentry to Triple-A Omaha.
Gentry was shipped back to the minors earlier this week. He’ll open the year back at Triple-a Omaha as extra outfield depth. The 25-year-old posted a .791 OPS with 16 homers and 14 steals in 572 plate appearances last year at the Triple-A level.

Tyler Gentry blasted a three-run homer on Tuesday night, powering the Royals to a 4-0 victory over the Cubs in Cactus League action.
Gentry reached on a fielder’s choice in the third inning on Tuesday and came around to score the game’s first run on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Maikel Garcia. He then put the game away with a mammoth three-run blast off of Richard Lovelady with two outs in the seventh inning. It was a nice day for the 25-year-old outfielder, but Gentry is still hitting just .167 (2-for-12) on the spring.
  • KC Outfielder
Royals selected the contract of OF Tyler Gentry from Triple-A Omaha.
The 24-year-old outfielder had a solid, if unspectacular season at Triple-A Omaha in 2023 — hitting .253/.370/.421 with 16 homers, 71 RBI and 14 stolen bases. He’s now safely on the 40-man roster and protected from being selected in December’s Rule 5 draft.
