  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies sent LHP Ty Blach outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Blach went unclaimed after being designated for assignment on Sunday. He can elect free agency, and will be a minor-league free agent at the end of the year regardless.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies designated LHP Ty Blach for assignment.
Blach gets DFA’d for a second time this year after giving up five runs in 3 2/3 innings in a start against the Brewers on Saturday. He’s 3-8 with a 6.94 ERA for the Rockies.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Ty Blach allowed five runs in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss against the Brewers on Saturday.
Blach gave up six hits, walked none and struck out one. It’s the third time in his last four starts that he’s allowed at least five runs. Blach was hit hard as he allowed home runs to Willy Adames, Gary Sanchez and William Contreras. He has a 6.94 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings this year. Blach is off the fantasy radar. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Tigers on the road next week.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Filling in for Cal Quantrill, Ty Blach gave up five runs over four innings in his start against the Orioles on Sunday.
Blach, who spent August back in the minors, was making his first appearance for the Rockies since July 26 and first start since June 10. He wound up taking the loss, leaving him 3-7 with a 6.65 ERA in 67 2/3 innings. If he remains in the rotation, he’ll face the Brewers next.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies selected the contract of LHP Ty Blach from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Blach will get the promotion and also make the starter after Cal Quantrill was scratched and placed on the injured list with right triceps inflammation. Blach has not been effective in his time in the majors and now is not a good time to bet on that changing.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #47
Cal Quantrill was scratched from his scheduled start against the Orioles on Sunday due to right triceps inflammation.
Rockies’ manager Bud Black announced that Ty Blach will start in his place on Sunday. No word yet on how long Quantrill will be shelved for, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him land on the injured list.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies sent LHP Ty Blach outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Blach predictably went unclaimed on waivers after being designated for assignment last weekend. The 33-year-old southpaw has the option to elect free agency, but might wind up sticking around as extra organizational depth. He’s spent the last three seasons with the Rockies.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Rockies designated LHP Ty Blach for assignment.
The 33-year-old southpaw was blasted by the Red Sox for six runs over 2 1/3 innings on Wednesday, which was apparently the final straw. Overall, he posted a cringe-inducing 6.36 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and a 34/16 K/BB ratio over 63 2/3 innings in 18 appearances (10 starts). There’s a chance he could pique someone else’s interest on waivers.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Ty Blach was tagged for six runs in 2 1/3 innings Tuesday in a loss to the Red Sox.
This probably has something to do with Blach not being very good at all, but to be fair, he was working in middle relief before the break and the start tonight was his first since June 20. He might be returned to middle relief next week after dropping to 3-6 with a 6.13 ERA.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #50
Ty Blach allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Dodgers on Thursday.
Blach gave up 10 hits, walked one and struck out two. He continues to give up hits in bunches as he’s now allowed 35 hits over his last four starts. Blach’s ERA is up to 5.13 on the season and he remains off the fantasy radar. The 33-year-old left-hander is set to face the Astros on the road next week.
