Mets recalled RHP Ty Adcock from Triple-A Syracuse.
The 27-year-old hurler will take the place of the injured Drew Smith (elbow) in the Mets’ bullpen. Adcock has pitched at the Triple-A level for three different organizations this season, compiling a 5.82 ERA, 1.94 WHIP and a 20/11 K/BB ratio across 17 innings. He’ll function in a middle relief role for the Mets.

Mets claimed RHP Ty Adcock on waivers from the Tigers; optioned him to Triple-A Syracuse.
Adcock had struggled this year with a 9.00 ERA in six innings for the Tigers in Triple-A while striking out nine and walking six. He had also struggled in two innings at Triple-A for the Mariners and was waived in April. However, the 27-year-old was solid as a rookie in 2023, pitching to a 3.45 ERA across 12 appearances, so the Mets will hope to recapture some of that.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #70
Tigers designated RHP Ty Adcock for assignment.
Adcock was claimed off waivers from the Mariners last month and didn’t end up making an appearance for Detroit. There’s a chance he passes through waivers unclaimed and remains with the organization. The 27-year-old made 12 appearances last year for the Mariners as a rookie.

Adcock was solid as a rookie in 2023, pitching to a 3.45 ERA across 12 appearances. He struggled in the Cactus League this spring so the Mariners decided to move on. He will now head to the Tigers, where he figures to serve as organizational relief depth.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #70
Mariners designated RHP Ty Adock for assignment.
Adcock pitched well as a rookie with a 3.45 ERA in 12 appearances in 2023, but dealt with health issues late in the year and struggled in the Cactus League. If he goes unclaimed, he’ll have a chance to pitch in Triple-A Tacoma as organizational depth.

Mariners optioned RHP Ty Adcock to Triple-A Tacoma; Re-assigned LHP Reid VanScoter to minor league camp.
Neither of the two hurlers were expected to make the Opening Day roster — especially with the addition of Ryne Stanek to the bullpen. Adcock struggled in his two Cactus League appearances, posting a 13.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 1/0 K/BB ratio in his two innings of work. He’ll begin the season as extra bullpen depth at Triple-A Tacoma.
