  • SF First Baseman #61
Giants sent 1B Trenton Brooks outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
Brooks was DFA’d last week after going 3-for-25 in his first major league stint. It’s his first outright assignment, so he’ll go back to being a key cog in the River Cats’ lineup.
  • SF First Baseman #61
Giants designated 1B/OF Trenton Brooks for assignment.
The 28-year-old Brooks went 3-for-25 with one RBI in his four weeks with the Giants. He’ll probably clear waivers, but maybe someone will take a flier, since he has been really good in Triple-A the last two years.
  • SF First Baseman #61
Trenton Brooks is on the bench against a right-hander in Friday’s game versus the Rangers.
Hit a grand slam, you start the next day. That rule applies to Wilmer Flores, so Brooks, who already sat against lefties the last two days, will not get to return to the lineup against a righty tonight. Flores gets the nod even though he’s hitting just .217/.309/.253 against righties this season. Brooks is 1-for-9 with two walks since his callup last week.
  • SF First Baseman
Giants selected the contract of 1B/OF Trenton Brooks from Triple-A Sacramento.
Brooks might be the last remaining healthy position player in San Francisco’s organization capable of playing first base and also handling an outfield spot. The 28-year-old has yet to reach the majors and has spent parts of the last two seasons with the Giants at the Triple-A level. He’s finally getting his chance with LaMonte Wade Jr. landing on the injured list.
  • SF Outfielder
The Giants optioned OF Wade Meckler to Triple-A Sacramento; reassigned LHP Carson Whisenhunt, RHP Tommy Romero, INF Donovan Walton, OFs Trenton Brooks and Yoshi Tsutsugo to minor league camp.
Meckler had an outside chance at making the club’s 27-man Opening Day roster, but he still showed promise during his time at spring camp. In his 13 games, the 23-year-old slashed .423/.483/.577 with two doubles, one triple and nine RBI. He’ll continue to develop at the Triple-A level where he posted a .965 OPS across 24 games last season. Whisenhunt is one of the top pitching prospects in baseball and figures to make an impact for fantasy managers down the road.
  • SF Outfielder
Giants re-signed OF Trenton Brooks to a minor league contract.
Brooks was shipped to the Giants in late August in exchange for left-hander Sean Newcomb in a post-trade deadline deal and finished the year with a robust .916 OPS with 22 homers and seven stolen bases across 523 plate appearances in 118 games at the Triple-A level. The 28-year-old outfielder has yet to reach the big leagues, but profiles as a potential reserve outfielder in an emergency situation for San Francisco moving forward.
  • SF Outfielder
Giants acquired OF Trenton Brooks from the Athletics for LHP Sean Newcomb.
Brooks signed a minor league contract last November with the Giants after spending the previous six years in the Guardians’ minor league system. The 28-year-old outfielder has batted .299/.405/.529 with 16 homers and five steals across 412 plate appearances in 94 games this season for Triple-A Las Vegas. There’s always a chance he gets a shot with the Giants in September.
  • SF First Baseman #61
Athletics signed OF Trenton Brooks to a minor league contract.
Brooks spent the last six years in the Guardians’ minor league system and finished last season with a pedestrian .273/.367/.464 triple-slash line with 11 home runs and one stolen base in 340 plate appearances over 87 games for Triple-A Columbus. The 27-year-old outfielder will function as organizational depth for Oakland moving forward.
