Wyatt Langford went 2-for-2 with an RBI on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Cactus League play.
Langford smacked a run-scoring single in his first at-bat of the content before adding another single a couple frames later. The 24-year-old outfielder offers realistic 25-homer, 20-steal production and will be a third or fourth-round pick in fantasy drafts this spring.
  • TEX 1st Baseman #21
Jake Burger tattooed a solo homer on Tuesday in Cactus League action against the Diamondbacks.
Burger’s titanic blast to straightaway center field left his bat at 110.6 mph and traveled 434 feet, per Statcast. The 29-year-old first baseman dealt with oblique, quad and wrist issues that limited him to just 103 games during his Rangers debut last season. Avoiding prolonged absences make it relatively easy to envision a return to the 30-homer plateau for the first time since 2023.
  • TEX Relief Pitcher #75
Carter Baumler struck out two in a perfect inning on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks in Cactus League play.
Baumler has yet to pitch above Double-A in his career, but that didn’t stop the Rangers from selecting him in the Rule 5 Draft earlier this offseason. He struck out a pair of big leaguers in Ketel Marte and Alek Thomas, generating four swinging strikes on nine pitches in his first appearance of the spring. He could make the Rangers’ season-opening bullpen and offers enough strikeout potential to potentially work his way into high-leverage spots down the road.
  • TEX Shortstop #89
Rangers SS prospect Sebastian Walcott (elbow) had a successful internal brace surgery last week.
The fact that Wolcott was able to avoid a full Tommy John surgery is good news. He will reportedly be able to start hitting in five or six months, which means he could be back in the cage in August. The Rangers would obviously love to get the 19-year-old top prospect a few minor league at-bats to end the season, but perhaps he can play in the Arizona Fall League and then be fully ready to go in 2027.
  • TEX Starting Pitcher #35
Jack Leiter tossed a pair of scoreless innings on Monday in his Cactus League debut against the Angels.
Leiter came out firing in his spring debut, averaging a sizzling 97 mph on his four-seam fastball — topping out at 98.9 mph — while flashing a brand-new upper-80’s cutter, which was classified as a slider by Statcast in this one. The 25-year-old former top pitching prospect was extremely streaky last year when he posted a respectable 3.86 ERA – 4.45 xERA – 1.28 WHIP and 148/67 K/BB ratio across 151 2/3 innings over a career-high 29 starts at the highest level. It’s relatively easy to envision him putting together a full-fledged breakthrough campaign given his raw talent, but only if he’s able to refine his command. He’s been a late-round pick in NFBC formats since the start of February, coming off the board at pick 255 overall, on average.
  • TEX Infield #56
Justin Foscue was removed from Monday’s Cactus League game against the Angels with right hamstring tightness.
It’s a tough break for Foscue, who is off to a strong start this spring. The 26-year-old former first-round pick smacked a 106-mph single in his lone at-bat of the exhibition contest prior to exiting. He’ll presumably head for further evaluation and testing to determine the severity of the injury. There should be an update on his status in the coming days.
  • TEX Pitcher #1
MacKenzie Gore allowed two runs on three hits in 1 2/3 innings Sunday against the Rockies.
It was Gore’s first start wearing a Rangers’ uniform, and fortunately, it’s an exhibition battle. The southpaw gave up a pair of run-scoring singles in the second inning before exiting. Gore’s fantasy value certainly ticked up after the deal from Washington this winter, and while he’s not likely to be an ace, there’s a good chance he’s a solid fantasy option in 2026.
  • TEX Outfield #0
Sam Haggerty went 3-for-3 and knocked in all of the Rangers’ runs Saturday in a 3-2 win over the Cubs.
Haggerty had an RBI single in the second and a two-run double in the fourth before being lifted for a pinch-runner. His chances of claiming a bench spot already improved earlier in the day with the reveal that Cody Freeman would likely open up on the injured list. The switch-hitting utilityman batted .253/.328/.370 in 182 plate appearances for the Rangers last season.
  • TEX Pitcher #80
Kumar Rocker allowed one run through two innings Saturday in a no-decision against the Cubs.
Rocker is back in the mix for a rotation spot this spring after finishing last year in the minors, but he’s probably something of an underdog at this point. Depending on how he performs and how the rest of the rotation is looking, a move to the pen might be in the offing at some point this year. His stuff seems pretty average as a starter, but he could be a weapon in short relief if the fastball comes up a bit.
  • TEX 3rd Baseman #39
Cody Freeman will be out 4-6 weeks after being diagnosed with a lower back fracture.
Rangers manager Skip Schumaker told reporters Freeman will be shut down for at least the next month before resuming baseball activities. The versatile 25-year-old got into 36 games for Texas as a rookie last year and was in line to open the season in a bench role. His absence makes it much easier for someone like Sam Haggerty or Michael Helman to secure a spot on the club’s season-opening roster.
