The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that “the best guess with [Teoscar] Hernández is that he will return to the Dodgers.”
Rosenthal believes that the deal could be a “three-year deal for more than $60 million.” It makes sense for Hernández to return to Los Angeles after having a huge season where he slashed .272/.339/.501 with 33 homers, 99 RBI, and 12 stolen bases over 652 plate appearances. after signing a one-year deal last offseason. Rosenthal mentions that, “If Hernández somehow does not land back with the Dodgers, the Blue Jays might be his most logical destination.”

Nick Pivetta rejected a one-year, $21.05 million qualifying offer from the Red Sox for the 2024 season.
It’s now official. Nick Martinez was the lone recipient to accept a qualifying offer this offseason cycle, becoming just the 14th to do so since the system was implemented back in 2012. That leaves Juan Soto, Willy Adames, Pete Alonso, Alex Bregman, Corbin Burnes, Max Fried, Teoscar Hernández, Christian Walker, Sean Manaea, Anthony Santander, Luis Severino and Pivetta officially heading to free agency. Their respective teams will receive draft pick compensation if they wind up signing elsewhere. No real surprises here besides Pivetta, who ESPN’s Jeff Passan indicated last week has at least a “three-year deal” waiting for him on the open market.

Multiple outlets report that Teoscar Hernández will decline the one-year qualifying offer from the Dodgers.
Not a surprise. Hernández was outstanding in his first — and possibly only — year with the Dodgers after his disappointing 2023 campaign with the Mariners The 32-year-old has drawn interest from several clubs thus far, and is looking at a higher AAV along with a multi-year deal this winter.

Shohei Ohtani was named a National League Silver Slugger Award winner.
No surprise here after Ohtani wrapped up his sublime Dodgers debut with a stratospheric 1.036 OPS to go along with 54 homers, 59 steals and 130 RBI over 159 games. The other interesting note here is Jackson Merrill becoming just the 16th rookie ever to take home the honor since 1980. Here are the rest of the National League winners: William Contreras (C), Bryce Harper (1B), Ketel Marte (2B), Manny Machado (3B), Francisco Lindor (SS), Jackson Merrill (OF), Jurickson Profar (OF), Teoscar Hernández (OF), Shohei Ohtani (DH) and Mookie Betts (UTIL).

MLB Network’s Jon Morosi reported that Teoscar Hernández is “drawing interest from the Red Sox and Orioles in free agency.”
Morosi mentions that other teams are interested in Hernández, but the Red Sox and Orioles appear to be the biggest suitors, along with the Dodgers, who extended a qualifying offer to the 32-year-old after he hit 33 home runs for them this season. The Red Sox were also in on Hernández in free agency last year but the Dodgers offered him more money, so perhaps the Red Sox will decide to pony up this year.

Dodgers extended a one-year, $21.05 million qualifying offer to free agent OF Tesocar Hernández.
There’s optimism for a reunion between Hernández and the defending World Series champions after the 32-year-old slugger emerged as an offensive force in his Los Angeles debut, clobbering a career-best 33 homers in 154 contests. A return to the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup would cement his status as an elite fantasy outfielder heading into next season, but he’s going to be an offensive force no matter where he ends up.

Teoscar Hernandez said during the Dodgers’ World Series’ celebration on Friday that returning to the team for the 2025 season was a priority for him.
The 32-year-old outfielder settled for a one-year, $23.5 million contract last off-season. He then went on to be a key cog in the Dodgers’ championship run — slashing .272/.339/.501 with 33 homers, 99 RBI and 12 stolen bases over 652 plate appearances. As one of the top right-handed hitters available on the open market, expect Hernandez to land a lucrative multi-year deal this time around.

Teoscar Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run against the Yankees on Saturday.
Hernandez’ home run was his third of the playoffs. He hit a two-run shot to the opposite field off Carlos Rodon in the third inning. Hernandez put the Dodgers ahead for good with his home run, which left his bat at 107.9 mph exit velocity and traveled 392 feet. After having one of his best seasons on a one-year deal this year, Hernandez has proven himself to be a key player in the Dodgers’ lineup and likely earned a significant payday this offseason.

Teoscar Hernandez went 1-for-3 with a walk and a grand slam against the Padres on Tuesday.
Hernandez’s home run was his first of the playoffs. Down 6-1 in the third inning, Hernandez seemed to give the Dodgers life with a grand slam off Michael King. Instead, Los Angeles had one baserunner for the rest of the game. Hernandez had one of his best seasons this year while on a one-year deal and figures to have earned himself a nice payday this offseason.

Teoscar Hernández homered and picked up three hits in a blowout win over the Rockies on Friday.
Hernández hit his 32nd homer of the season with a two-run shot off a completely ineffective Cal Quantrill. That ties a career high for the 31-year-old, and the outfielder will have two more chances for him to set his career high in the friendly confines of Coors Field.
