    Mariners reassigned RHPs Taylor Williams and Ryder Ryan to minor league camp.
    The 31-year-old former big league closer has really fallen off over the past few seasons. he struggled in his three Cactus League outings, registering a 9.00 ERA, 1.67 WHIP and a 3/1 K/BB ratio over three innings. He’ll begin the season as additional bullpen depth at Triple-A Tacoma.

    Williams signed a minor league contract with the Giants back in March and has been cut loose after compiling a disastrous 6.81 ERA, 1.69 WHIP and 45/17 K/BB ratio across 39 2/3 innings (27 appearances, three starts) this season for Triple-A Sacramento. The 30-year-old righty has made 97 relief appearances, including 11 last year between the Padres and Marlins, at the big-league level since 2017.

    With that large batch of cuts, the Giants now have just 34 players remaining in big league camp as they try to trim that number down to 28 before Opening Day. Junis pitched well in Cactus League action -- hurling four shutout innings with a 0.50 WHIP and 4/0 K/BB ratio -- there simply wasn’t room for him in the Giants rotation after the Carlos Rodon signing. He’ll bide his time at Triple-A until he’s needed.

The 30-year-old hurler posted a 1.69 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 6/3 K/BB ratio over 5 1/3 innings in five appearances with the Padres. The former Mariners closer could attract interest on waivers.
