Reds transferred OF Stuart Fairchild to the 60-day injured list.
The 28-year-old outfielder is sidelined with a left thumb sprain and wasn’t going to make it back before the end of the season, so the Reds decided to move him to the 60-day IL and free up a spot on their 40-man roster to add Evan Kravetz to the bullpen mix on Wednesday. Fairchild should be fully recovered and ready to go for the start of spring training.

Reds placed OF Stuart Fairchild on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 26, with a left thumb sprain.
Fairchild remains a non-factor for fantasy purposes, but he’s been a valuable bench outfielder for Cincinnati the past couple years. No word yet on his exact return timetable, but he’s probably going to miss at least a couple weeks.

Stuart Fairchild came off the bench and went 1-for-2 with a go-ahead double in the 10th inning to defeat the Rays 3-2.
Fairchild pinch-hit for Jake Fraley with the left-handed Garrett Cleavinger on the mound for Tampa Bay. He popped up then but brought the game-winning run around in extras. Fairchild is not an every day player as is and will lose some more playing time with TJ Friedl coming off the injured list.

Reds activated OF Stuart Fairchild from the 10-day injured list.
Fairchild was on the injured list with a spine disc injury. Now that he’s back he should see most of his playing time come against left-handed pitching. The Reds are going to keep playing Rece Hinds everyday and Jake Fraley and Will Benson will both play against right-handed pitching. Edwin Rios was designated for assignment as the corresponding move. Fairchild is hitting .224 with five home runs and 23 RBI in 170 at-bats this year.

Reds manager David Bell told reporters that Stuart Fairchild (spine) is on track to return after the All-Star break.
Fairchild was placed on the injured list retroactive to July 7 with a spine disc injury. The 28-year-old could end up missing another day or two if there are setbacks, but he should return to the outfield rotation well become the end of July.

Reds placed OF Stuart Fairchild on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 7, with a spine disc injury.
That sounds like more than a 10-day thing. Rece Hinds was called up to replace Fairchild, who was seeing regular playing time with TJ Friedl on the injured list. The newly acquired Austin Slater, who isn’t yet on the active roster, will probably take over most of Fairchild’s at-bats.

Reds’ manager David Bell told reporters after Sunday’s loss to the Tigers that Stuart Fairchild was held out of the team’s lineup due to a back issue.
It doesn’t sound like anything serious that’s going to require a stint on the injured list, but it’s something that fantasy managers should at least monitor heading into next week. The 28-year-old outfielder should be considered day-to-day for the time being.

Resd placed OF TJ Friedl on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.
This is Friedl’s third IL stint of the season. The center fielder had been in a little 2-for-23 slump while dealing with the injury originally suffered at the beginning of last week, but he’ll be missed at the top of the Reds’ lineup. Nick Martini and Stuart Fairchild will pick up at-bats in his place, with Will Benson likely to slide to center.

Stuart Fairchild is back in the Reds lineup for Friday’s game against the Dodgers.
Fairchild is leading off against Dodgers left-handed pitcher James Paxton. He continues to see the majority of his playing time against southpaws. Fairchild is 17-for-53 (.321) with two home runs against left-handed pitching this season.

Jake Fraley is not in the Reds’ starting lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Nationals.
Fraley will take a seat with left-hander Patrick Corbin toeing the slab for the Nationals. The Reds will roll out an outfield of Spencer Steer, Stuart Fairchild and Will Benson from left to right against the veteran Nationals’ southpaw on Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati.
