Brewers optioned OF Steward Berroa to Triple-A Nashville.
Berroa went 0-for-5 in a pair of games for the Brewers earlier this week while Blake Perkins was on bereavement leave.
  • MIL Right Fielder #37
Brewers recalled OF Steward Berroa from Triple-A Nashville.
Berroa will have a chance to make his MLB debut if/when he gets into a game. The 26-year-old takes the roster spot of Blake Perkins with Perkins on the bereavement list. Berroa doesn’t profile as more than organizational depth, and fantasy managers shouldn’t add consider a speculative roster addition.
  • MIL Right Fielder #37
Brewers acquired OF Steward Berroa from the Dodgers for cash considerations.
The Brewers then placed Berroa on the minor-league injured list with right elbow bursitis. Berroa was designated for assignment Thursday, and will be a depth piece for Milwaukee for the remainder of 2025.
  • LAD Right Fielder #37
Dodgers designated OF Steward Berroa for assignment.
The 26-year-old outfielder was plucked from the Blue Jays for cash considerations after he had been designated for assignment in mid-May. On the season, Berroa has hit .270/.358/.345 with just one homer, 15 RBI and 20 stolen bases in 205 plate appearances at the Triple-A level.
  • LAD Right Fielder #37
Dodgers acquired OF Steward Berroa from the Blue Jays for cash considerations.
Berroa heads to Los Angeles as extra organizational outfield depth. The 25-year-old hit .189 with six steals in 28 games last year for the Blue Jays in his first shot at the highest level. He’s extremely unlikely to make a fantasy impact for the Dodgers given their overabundance of talent in the majors.
  • TOR Right Fielder #37
Blue Jays designated OF Steward Berroa for assignment.
Berroa hit .189 with six steals in 28 games last year in his first exposure to the majors. The 25-year-old outfielder loses his spot on Toronto’s 40-man roster with the club calling up reliever Braydon Fisher ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Angels.
  • TOR Right Fielder #37
Blue Jays optioned OF Steward Berroa to Triple-A Buffalo; reassigned C Christian Bethancourt, LHP Eric Lauer, C Ali Sánchez and INF Michael Stefanic to minor league camp.
No real surprises here as the biggest shockwave from Toronto came earlier on Sunday when the club announced that prospect Alan Roden made the season-opening roster over Addison Barger, who was subsequently shipped to Triple-A Buffalo.
  • TOR Right Fielder #37
Blue Jays recalled INF/OF Steward Berroa from Triple-A Buffalo.
Berroa went 5-for-33 (.152) with no home runs and one RBI in his first taste of the majors with Toronto earlier this year. He had five stolen bases in 24 games, though. Berroa hit .281 with 10 home runs and 47 RBI at Triple-A so Toronto believes it’s worth it to give him another look before the end of the season. He’s not a recommended fantasy option at the moment.
  • TOR Center Fielder #37
Blue Jays optioned INF/OF Steward Berroa to Triple-A Buffalo.
Berroa saw limited playing time over the past month with the Blue Jays and has hit just .152/.317/.182 with zero homers, one RBI and a 13/8 K/BB ratio in 41 plate appearances with the Jays. Nathan Lukes was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Friday to take his place on the active roster.
  • TOR Center Fielder #37
Steward Berroa singled, walked and stole two bases Monday in the second game of a doubleheader against the Orioles.
Berroa’s speed would make him interesting in fantasy leagues if the playing time were there, but the Joey Loperfido acquisition tonight makes it unlikely that he’ll get anything close to regular at-bats in the final two months. He’s probably a 26th man at best anyway. The start tonight was only his third in four weeks with the Blue Jays.
