Dodgers reassigned OFs Steven Duggar and Bradley Zimmer and RHP Wander Suero to minor league camp.
With Jason Heyward and James Outman each making the big league club, there wasn’t room for Duggar or Zimmer on the Opening Day roster. Duggar, 29, struggled in Cactus League play, hitting just .200 (8-for-40) with one homer, seven RBI and one stolen base.

Steven Duggar had a two-run homer and a two-run double as the Dodgers topped the Giants 13-8 on Saturday.
Duggar had been 0-for-13 this spring before the nice game today against his longtime club. He’s one possible bench option for the Dodgers if they decide against carrying Jason Heyward or James Outman. Realistically, though, he probably looking at opening up in Triple-A.

  • LAD Center Fielder #33
According to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, the Dodgers could split playing time in center field this season between Trayce Thompson and James Outman.
As currently constructed, the Dodgers’ roster has a surprising amount of holes, including shortstop and center field. Ardaya adds that it’s possible offseason additions Jason Heyward, Bradley Zimmer or Steven Duggar factor into the center field mix, but Thompson and Outman appear to be the likely favorites to platoon there this season. Barring a late-offseason addition, Outman would be the most intriguing from a fantasy perspective. The 25-year-old prospect has some serious contact issues, but displayed some serious offensive upside last year between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City, batting .294/.392/.586 with 31 homers and 13 stolen bases in 559 plate appearances.

Dodgers signed OF Steven Duggar to a minor league contract.
Duggar sustained a left oblique strain in late April that caused him to miss two months and ostensibly derailed his season. He was traded to the Rangers in late June and wound up being claimed off waivers by the Angels in early August before being released in early September. The 29-year-old outfielder showed some flashes of potential earlier in his career with the Giants and will get a chance as a reclamation project this season with the Dodgers.

OF Steven Duggar has elected free agency.
The 28-year-old outfielder was designated for assignment by the Angels earlier in the week. He passed through waivers unclaimed, and then opted to explore the free agent market rather than accepting his outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake. Duggar has slashed just .153/.225/.222 with no homers, four RBI and five stolen bases in 80 plate appearances between the Giants, Rangers and Angels this season.

Angels designated OF Steven Duggar for assignment.
Duggar has hit just .153/.225/.222 in 29 games this year between the Giants, Rangers, and Halos.

Angels optioned OF Steven Duggar to Triple-A Salt Lake.
While no corresponding move has been announced yet, it’s anticipated that Mike Trout will be activated from the injured list prior to Friday’s series opener against the Tigers in Detroit. Duggar appeared in nine games during his time with the Angels, going 1-for-19 (.053) with 13 strikeouts. He’ll attempt to get back on track at Triple-A.

Angels claimed OF Steven Duggar off waivers from the Rangers.
With Micky Moniak likely out, the Angels made a move to add outfield depth by claiming Duggar off waivers from the Rangers. The 28-year-old outfielder has hit just .189/.241/.245 with five steals across 58 plate appearances in the majors this season.

Rangers designated OF Steven Duggar for assignment.
Duggar was designated for assignment to clear room on the 40-man roster for the promotions of Bubba Thompson and Cole Ragans. The outfielder could see interest on the waiver wire, but there’s very little fantasy relevance -- if any -- to consider him an option if he does get claimed.

Rangers optioned outfielder Steven Duggar to Triple-A Round Rock.
Duggar must be wondering why the Rangers even acquired him last month. He got just 19 plate appearances in three weeks with the team. going 3-for-17 with 12 strikeouts. Triple-A might be where he belongs, but it’s odd that Texas didn’t give him a legtimate look.
