Bracho cleared waivers for the second time in a minor. He has the right to become a free agent, but his best path back to the majors is probably to remain with the Reds.

Bracho tossed two innings and struck out two on Saturday but was removed from the Reds roster to make room for Randy Wynns. Bracho was designated for assignment earlier this year, so there is a strong possibility he will pass through waivers unclaimed again.

Bracho gave up three runs in 5 1/3 innings for the Reds last month before being designated for assignment and clearing waivers. He’ll rejoin the bullpen as a middle reliever.

Bracho went unclaimed on waivers and will remain with the Reds as extra organizational relief depth. The 30-year-old righty made four relief appearances for Cincinnati before being designated for assignment earlier this week.

Bracho tossed a pair of scoreless innings on Tuesday evening against the Cardinals and has been removed from Cincinnati’s 40-man roster to make room for relief prospect Eduardo Salazar to get the call to the majors. There’s a strong possibility he passes through waivers unclaimed and remains with the Reds as organizational relief depth.

Bracho was non-tendered by the Braves last November before signing a minor league contract with the Reds late last year. The 30-year-old has a 3.14 ERA and 1.05 WHIP across 14 appearances at Triple-A Louisville.

Lopez offers plenty of defensive versatility and has gotten into 73 contests over the last two seasons for Cincinnati. Bracho has made just four relief appearances in the majors over the last three years and will open the upcoming season as extra relief depth at Triple-A Louisville.

Bracho was non-tendered by the Braves in November after making just three relief appearances for Atlanta in 2022. He could compete for a bullpen spot in Goodyear with Cincinnati.
