Phillies pitching prospect Shane Watson will miss most of the 2014 season after undergoing right shoulder surgery later this month.
The 20-year-old right-hander, and Phillies first round selection from the 2012 draft, is expected to be sidelined until at least August due to the ailment. He’s coming off a mildly disappointing season, where he compiled a 4.75 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 53/28 K/BB ratio over 72 innings at Class-A Lakewood.
