Orioles picked up their $8 million team option on RHP Seranthony Domínguez.
Domínguez came to the Orioles in a deadline trade with the Phillies and pitched to a 3.97 ERA and 28:9 K:BB over 22 2/3 innings while getting 10 saves for Baltimore. With Felix Bautista set to return in 2025, Domínguez will likely take on a set-up role for the Orioles.

Seranthony Domínguez allowed one run on one hit and two walks to take a blown save in an eventual win over the Giants.
The 29-year-old was tasked with preserving a 3-2 lead in the ninth inning, but he walked two batters and allowed a weird, long bloop single to the outfield to suffer the blown save. Gregory Soto would come on and get the Orioles out of the jam, but Domínguez now has a 4.37 ERA on the season. After Craig Kimbrel was designated for assignment on Wednesday, the Orioles have tons of questions to answer about their bullpen performance.

Seranthony Domínguez worked a scoreless ninth against the Red Sox for his 10th save Tuesday.
Domínguez was pitching for the first time since Friday. He’s being treated strictly as a closer at the moment, and his last six appearances have all turned into saves. Nine of his 10 saves on the year have come since the Orioles acquired him from the Phillies in late July.

Seranthony Domínguez struck out two and allowed one hit in 1 1/3 innings to earn the save on Friday against the Rays.
The Rays got the tying runs into scoring position after a single, error, and double-steal before Domínguez got Ben Rortvedt to pop-out and end this game. He dealt with some drama in the eighth inning too after his own wild pitch moved Jonathan Aranda to second base, but found a way out of both jams. He’s now closed out five saves in a row and has still only allowed runs via the solo homer as an Oriole.

Seranthony Domínguez allowed a solo homer but was able to pick up a save against the Rockies on Friday.
Domínguez gave up a long homer to Brendan Rodgers in the bottom of the ninth, but it came with the Orioles leading by three runs, so it didn’t change much other than Domínguez’s ERA. That did jump up to 4.24, but he was able to give fantasy managers a couple of strikeouts while procuring his eighth save of the year.

Seranthony Domínguez tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday against the Dodgers to net his seventh save of the season.
Domínguez needed a high-wire escape act to preserve a one-run lead in this one as he gave up a one-out single to Miguel Rojas and also issued a two-out walk to Gavin Lux before getting Chris Taylor to fly out to left field to end the contest. The 29-year-old righty has been shaky of late, but he remains the best option for the Orioles in the ninth inning at the moment, which will continue to drive his fantasy appeal.

Seranthony Domínguez tossed a clean ninth inning with one strikeout to earn the save against the Astros on Saturday.
Domínguez was summoned in the ninth inning to close out the game with a one-run lead over Houston. He recorded all three outs on eight pitches, striking out one batter for his sixth save of the season as he’s taken control of the closer role in Baltimore.

Seranthony Domínguez shut the Astros down in a clean ninth inning to earn the save on Friday.
Domínguez needed to get right after allowing a solo home run in three straight outings with two of those being walk-offs by the Mets. Credit to the Orioles for going right back to him because he slammed the door shut in this dramatic victory. Their decision to keep him as their closer should instill plenty of confidence that he is the unquestioned guy in Baltimore moving forward.

Seranthony Domínguez coughed up a walk-off solo homer in the ninth inning on Wednesday in a loss to the Orioles.
Domínguez was called upon in a tie ballgame in the bottom of the ninth inning at Citi Field and served up a walk-off homer for the second time in the three-game series when he coughed up a game-winning blast to pinch-hitter Jesse Winker with one out in the frame. Not great. It’s unclear whether Orioles manager Brandon Hyde will consider alternatives in high-leverage spots moving forward, but it would be surprising to see veteran Craig Kimbrel get another look. It’s possible Yennier Cano, Cionel Pérez or Gregory Soto could factor into the mix if Domínguez’s struggles persist. We’ll see.

Seranthony Domínguez coughed up a walk-off homer on Monday in a loss to the Mets.
Domínguez has given up runs in back-to-back outings since Orioles manager Brandon Hyde officially named him the club’s primary stopper. The 29-year-old righty was called upon in a tie ballgame at Citi Field and wound up serving up a no-doubter to Francisco Alvarez. It’s probably going to take a couple more implosions before he’s in any danger of losing save opportunities, but it’s definitely not what fantasy managers want to see.
