Rangers promoted INF prospect Sebastian Walcott to Double-A Frisco.
Walcott has hit .261 with 10 home runs and 26 stolen bases over 116 games with High-A Hickory. He’s only 18, and widely considered one of the best infield prospects in the sport. There’s an outside shot that Walcott could see time with the Rangers by the end of 2025, but 2026 still seems more likely because of his age.
  • Orioles C/1B prospect Samuel Basallo is at catcher and batting cleanup for the American League during Saturday’s All-Star Futures Game at Globe Life Field.
It’s a star-studded lineup with several of the top fantasy prospects in the game featured alongside Basallo. The 19-year-old burgeoning slugger has morphed into one of the premier dynasty hitters in the fantasy landscape last year, and has backed it up this season in the upper minors, batting .274/.338/.449 with 12 homers and seven steals through 75 games for Double-A Bowie. Here’s the full lineup: Max Clark CF, Cole Young 2B, Sebastian Walcott SS, Basallo C, Spencer Jones RF, Xavier Isaac 1B, Colson Montgomery 3B, Jaison Chourio LF and Harry Ford DH.

Sebastian Walcott homered on Friday for High-A Hickory.
Walcott is one of the youngest players in the South Atlantic League at just 18 years old, which explains his early-season struggles at the dish. He’s done nothing but draw rave reviews from scouts and analysts over the last few years, which puts him on the long-term radar for fantasy managers. He’s rostered in keeper and dynasty league formats already, but it’ll be worth tracking his progress over the next few months as his long-term value could rise quickly with a strong stint at High-A.

Rangers promoted SS Sebastian Walcott to High-A Hickory.
According to MLB.com’s Kennedi Landry, Walcott is just the fifth player in baseball this season to play for a full-season minor league affiliate at 17 years old or younger. The 17-year-old shortstop has quickly become one of the most intriguing prospects in Texas’ system after signing out of the Bahamas as an international free agent for $3.2 million back in January. He’s one to watch in long-term keeper and dynasty league formats.
