Reid-Foley missed time earlier this season with a right shoulder impingement and will likely be out until after next month’s All-Star break. The 28-year-old righty holds a strong 1.66 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 25/14 K/BB ratio across 21 2/3 innings (23 appearances) since making his season debut back in late April.

The 28-year-old was placed on the injured list at the end of spring training with a right shoulder impingement. He made one relief appearance in High-A and two relief appearances in Triple-A as part of his rehab and now will rejoin the Mets bullpen. The right-hander pitched just 10 innings in 2022 before undergoing Tommy John surgery and then returned for just 7 2/3 innings in 2023, so it’s unclear just what the Mets will be getting from him. He’s thrown just 45 MLB innings over his past four seasons.

There’s no timetable for Reid-Foley to return at this point.

Reid-Foley had made just eight appearances since returning from Tommy John surgery, allowing three runs in 7 2/3 innings. He’s likely done for the season.

Reid-Foley will rejoin New York’s bullpen on Tuesday as he completes his lengthy recovery from last May’s Tommy John surgery. The 27-year-old right has made 40 appearances (13 starts) in the majors dating back to 2018. He figures to pitch in middle relief for the Mets.

The Mets cleared a spot on the 40-man roster by moving Sean Reid-Foley to the 60-day IL. The 26-year-old right-hander is sidelined with a partially torn UCL.
