2008 13th-round pick Scott Shaw pitched five hitless innings Saturday for Honolulu in the HWL.
Shaw has allowed just one run and two hits in 11 2/3 innings so far. The Illinois product had a 2.80 ERA and a 79/15 K/BB ratio in 74 innings in the New York-Penn League after being drafted. He lacks big-time upside, but he’s looking like a nice find for the Mets so far.
