  • LAA Starting Pitcher #54
José Suarez will take Sam Aldegheri’s (finger) place in the rotation.
Carson Fulmer (elbow) was activated Sunday, but the right-hander will pitch in the bullpen instead. Suarez should be stretched out enough for the chance to qualify for wins, but keep in mind he plays for the Angels. There’s not much fantasy significance here.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Angels placed LHP Samuel Aldegheri on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to September 14, with a middle finger blister.
The retroactive means nothing because there aren’t enough days left in the season for Aldegheri to return before the season ends. Aldegheri made three starts at the highest level, and he registered a 4.85 ERA and 10 strikeouts in his 13 innings. The 22-year-old left-hander has a chance to win one of the final spots in the rotation in 2025.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Samuel Aldegheri allowed four runs in two innings and took the loss against the Astros on Friday.
Aldegheri gave up six hits, walked five and struck out none. In three major league starts, he’s had one fair start, one good start and one bad start. He hasn’t been consistent enough to trust in fantasy lineups just yet. Aldegheri has a 4.85 ERA, 1.92 WHIP and 10 strikeouts in 13 innings. The 22-year-old left-hander is set to face the White Sox at home next week.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Samuel Aldegheri gave up seven runs — two earned — in five innings to get a loss against the Mariners on Friday.
Aldegheri was making his MLB debut. It coulda been worse. The left-hander was obviously hurt by his defense, but don’t conflate unearned runs with pitching well. He walked two, struck out three and gave up a two-run bomb to Julio Rodriguez. Aldegheri will likely go again Thursday against the Rangers, but nothing has been confirmed just yet.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Angels selected the contract of LHP Samuel Aldegheri from Double-A Rocket City.
The 22-year-old southpaw was acquired in the deadline deal that sent Carlos Estevez to the Phillies. Aldegheri has made four starts at the Double-A level since joining the Angels, registering a 5.19 ERA and a 25/9 K/BB ratio across 17 1/3 innings. Even against the Mariners, he is not a recommended streaming option on Friday.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
The Angels are planning to call up Sam Aldegheri to start Friday against the Mariners, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.
Aldegheri, 22, was one of the two pitchers the Angels got from the Phillies for Carlos Estévez last month. The former Italian Serie player has since pitched four times in Double-A, posting a 5.19 ERA and a 25/9 K/BB in 17 1/3 innings. He’s made a total of six starts above A-ball in his pro career, so this would be a big jump for him.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher
Angels acquired LHP Samuel Aldegheri and RHP George Klassen from the Phillies for RHP Carlos Estévez.
The 22-year-old left-hander has burst onto the prospect scene this season, compiling a 3.23 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 109/32 K/BB ratio over 78 frames in 15 starts between High-A Jersey Shore and Double-A Reading. Between he and Klassen, the Angels add some talented young rotation depth in exchange for their closer.
