Salvador Perez went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer on Wednesday, lifting the Royals to an 8-4 victory over the Giants.
Perez connected for a rare opposite-field homer for a right-handed batter at Oracle Park, taking Giants starter Logan Webb deep into the right-field seats for his first big fly since April 13. It was his third long ball of the season. The three hits matched a season-high and raised his batting average from .213 to .223 on the season. The 35-year-old veteran backstop has gotten off to a slow start relative to his usual standards, but he’s starting to look like himself again in recent days.

Salvador Perez drove in three runs while going 2-for-4 in a rout of the White Sox on Thursday.
Perez got the scoring started with an RBI double in the first, and he knocked in another in the third on a single. A sac fly in the eighth finished the scoring and gave Perez 20 RBI on the 2025 campaign. He’s still hitting a disappointing .241/.286/.386, but he’s too good of hitter to have that low of slash for much longer.

Salvador Perez (hip) is back in the lineup for Sunday’s showdown against the Orioles.
Perez is back at DH and batting cleanup on Sunday afternoon at Camden Yards following a brief two-game absence due to left hip soreness. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern moving forward. The 34-year-old ironman has gotten off to a frosty start this season, hitting .237/.280/.381 with two homers and 16 RBI through 31 games.

Salvador Perez (hip) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Orioles.
Perez will sit out his second straight game after making an early exit from Thursday’s game against the Rays with left hip soreness. The 34-year-old ironman rarely misses any action, so it’s notable that he’s getting some extra time off to rest and recover. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be Freddy Fermin handling the catching duties in his absence.

Salvador Perez (hip) is not in the Royals’ starting lineup for Friday night’s battle against the Orioles.
Perez was removed from Thursday’s game due to left hip soreness. The Royals don’t think that it’s going to require a trip to the injured list, but they’re concerned enough about him getting behind the plate that they added Luke Maile to the roster as insurance on Friday. The 34-year-old backstop is considered day-to-day and could be available to pinch hit on Friday night.

Salvador Perez left Thursday’s game against the Rays with left hip soreness.
Perez went 1-for-3 with an RBI double before exiting. It’s worth noting that he left in a game that the Royals were winning handily, so it’s possible this is a precautionary measure. Still, Perez will likely undergo testing, and his status for the weekend should be updated shortly.

Freddy Fermin is catching Thursday for the fifth time in the Royals’ last seven games.
Fermin started a total of nine of the Royals’ first 25 games, but they are more frequently going with Salvador Perez at DH now, probably in part because their designated hitters have been terrible. As a team, they’re batting .191/.271/.348, and that’s with Perez hitting .316/.350/.579 in his five starts.

Salvador Perez went 1-for-4 with an RBI double on Tuesday as the Royals eked out a 3-1 victory over the Rays in Tampa Bay.
Perez got the Royals on the board in the opening inning with a two-out RBI double off of Taj Bradley that plated Jonathan India from third base. The 34-year-old slugger is off to a slow start overall on the season, slashing an underwhelming .225/.271/.369 with just two homers and 15 RBI through his first 29 games.

Salvador Perez is absent from the Royals’ starting lineup for Friday night’s soiree against the Astros.
There haven’t been any rumblings of any sort of injury, so it sounds like it’s just a regular day of rest for the hard-hitting backstop. Freddy Fermin will start behind the plate and will bat eighth for the Royals against Astros’ right-hander Hayden Wesneski.

Salvador Perez went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI on Thursday, leading the Royals to a 6-2 victory over the Rockies in the second game of their doubleheader.
Perez chased Rockies’ starter Chase Dollander from the game with a two-run double in the fifth inning that extended the Royals’ lead to 5-0. The 34-year-old backstop also led off the second inning with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Michael Massey. His bat has started to perk up a bit, but even with the three-hit attack he’s still slashing only .220/.271/.360 on the season to go with two homers and 14 RBI.
