Ryan Raburn went 4-for-8 with a home run in Double-A Erie’s doubleheader yesterday.
Raburn, a 2001 fifth-round pick, is hitting .292/.383/.537 in 85 games as Erie’s second baseman this season. He has a chance to be a regular if he can stay at second, but it won’t happen before 2006.
  • BOS Shortstop #27
Jhonny Peralta will bat eighth in Game 1 of the ALDS against the Yankees on Friday night.
Peralta is just 1-for-17 with five strikeouts against CC Sabathia lifetime, so he’ll be dropped in the order. Ryan Raburn, who has an .847 career OPS against southpaws, will bat seventh and play second base.
  • INT Outfield
Delmon Young has been left off the Tigers’ ALCS roster due to his recent oblique injury.
Danny Worth will replace him on the roster while Ryan Raburn should get most of the playing time in left field. It’s a blow for the Tigers, as Young went 6-for-19 with three homers during the ALDS, but Raburn has a chance to fare well against the lefty-heavy Rangers’ rotation
  • DET 1st Baseman #24
Miguel Cabrera will bat third in the Tigers lineup for Game 1 of the ALCS.
Cabrera has a strong track record against the Rangers, batting .371/.411/.711 in 188 plate appearances. He’s been Detroit’s MVP this season outside of Justin Verlander, leading the majors in batting average (.344), on-base percentage (.448) and doubles (48). The Tigers have yet to officially release their lineup, but Ryan Raburn will fill in for an injured Delmon Young in left field.

Magglio Ordonez has been removed from the ALCS roster due to ongoing issues with his surgically-repaired right ankle.
It’s a tough blow for a Tigers team that’s already without Delmon Young. Manager Jim Leyland said the ankle is “killing” Maggs. Ordonez had surgery on the ankle late last year, and he hasn’t been able to totally shake the soreness since. The 37-year-old will be ineligible to play in a potential World Series berth for the Tigers. He admitted to considering retirement earlier this season, so it’s certainly possible that he’s taken his last MLB at-bat. The Tigers have not announced who will replace Maggs on the ALCS roster. Don Kelly and Ryan Raburn assume his at-bats. Kelly had four hits and a home run during the ALDS, while Raburn is 3-for-8 in the playoffs.

Ryan Raburn provided the Tigers entire offense in Game 2 of the ALCS, going 1-for-3 with a three-run homer.
The Tigers simply couldn’t put anything together on offense, going 8-for-35 (.229) with four extra base hits. The bottom of their lineup remains an area of concern going forward with Alex Avila slumping and Andy Dirks proving to be ineffective both offensively and on defense.

Ryan Raburn went hitless for the sixth time in seven games Friday against the Orioles.
The spring was just too long for Raburn, who is 1-for-19 since hitting his sixth homer on March 20. It doesn’t look like he’ll enter the season on a hot streak after all.

Ryan Raburn was scratched from Saturday’s lineup with leg soreness.
The injury isn’t believed to be serious, but manager Jim Leyland wants to rest him as a precaution. The Tigers are counting on Raburn as an everyday player following the departure of Brandon Inge.

Ryan Raburn will get regular at-bats at second base following the release of Brandon Inge.
Raburn was on the strong side of a platoon before, but the Tigers now see him as a everyday player. There’s the chance for real fantasy value here given his past power production, but the 31-year-old is batting just .128 with zero homers and one RBI over his first 47 at-bats this season.

Ryan Raburn struck out all four times he was up today and is now 1-for-19 with the Tigers.
1-for-19 with 13 strikeouts. Raburn is due for a full year in Triple-A in 2005.
