Mariners transferred 2B Ryan Bliss to the 60-day injured list.
Bliss will undergo surgery to repair a torn left biceps and is expected to miss at least 4-5 months. There’s a strong possibility his season is over. The procedural move frees up a spot on Seattle’s active roster for rookie Ben Williamson.

Ryan Bliss will undergo surgery to repair his torn left biceps.
The surgery will take place Friday, and Bliss is expected to miss 4-5 months while recovering. That could put the 25-year-old back near the end of the season, but there’s at least a decent chance he will miss the remainder of the 2025 season. It’s a big loss for the Mariners because of his defense at second, but Bliss wasn’t quite on the fantasy roster in redraft leagues.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #1
Mariners placed INF Ryan Bliss on the 10-day injured list with a left biceps tear.
Bliss picked up the injury on an awkward swing in the extra-innings loss to the Astros on Tuesday. The 25-year-old is a big loss for the Mariners because of his defense at second base, but he hasn’t hit well enough just yet for fantasy relevance. Leo Rivas is up from Triple-A Tacoma, and he’ll likely be the utility option for Seattle while Bliss heals.
  • SEA 2nd Baseman #1
Ryan Bliss hit a two-run homer in a win Monday over the Astros.
Bliss picked up his first roundtripper of 2025 and gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead on a shot off Hayden Wesneski with Dylan Moore at first. The 25-year-old has looked strong with the glove and offers some stolen-base potential, but the lack of power — despite the homer Monday — makes him hard to recommend in redraft formats.

Ryan Bliss went 1-for-2 with an RBI triple on Thursday, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Mariners past the Giants.
Bliss opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI triple off of Spencer Bivens in the fourth inning that plated Blake Hunt. He struck out in his only other plate appearance in the ballgame. The Mariners’ addition of Donovan Solano over the winter seemingly blocks Bliss’ path to starting the season on the big league roster.
  • SEA 3rd Baseman #39
Mariners signed 1B/3B Donovan Solano to a one-year, $3.5 million contract.
The deal, which also includes $1 million in performance incentives, is official. Solano provides Seattle with some additional bench depth heading into next season after batting .286/.343/.417 with eight home runs and two steals in 309 plate appearances last year with the Padres. The 37-year-old veteran journeyman has spent time with four different organizations in the big leagues dating back to 2019. He can be safely ignored for fantasy purposes but represents a quality depth addition for the Mariners behind incumbent infield options Dylan Moore, Luke Raley and Ryan Bliss.

The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported that the Mariners could give Cole Young at look at second base “at some point next season.”
Rosenthal reported that the Mariners believe “they are positioned to handle second base internally with Dylan Moore and Ryan Bliss’ but Young could get a look at some point during the season. The 21-year-old played the entire season at Double-A this past year, slashing .271/.369/.390 with nine home runs, 23 steals, just a 15.8 percent strikeout rate, and a 12.1 percent walk rate. The 21st overall pick in the 2022 draft seems likely to start 2025 at Triple-A and could push for MLB at-bats with a strong start to the season.

Mariners optioned INF Ryan Bliss to Triple-A Tacoma.
Bliss slugged a two-run homer in Friday night’s victory over the Mets, but the M’s needed to free up a spot on their active roster for the return of Julio Rodríguez on Sunday and he was deemed expendable. He’ll return to an everyday role at Triple-A until another need arises at the big-league level.
  • SEA Shortstop #1
Ryan Bliss hit a two-run homer in a win for the Mariners on Friday over teh Mets.
Bliss gave the Mariners a 2-0 lead with a two-run blast off Jose Quintana, and that’s all Seattle would need with Bryce Miller and the bullpen shutting the Mets down. Bliss now has two homers in his limited time in Seattle with a slash of .222/.290/.397. He isn’t worth a fantasy roster spot now, but there’s some long-term upside in his profile; mainly because of his speed.
  • SEA Shortstop #1
Mariners recalled INF Ryan Bliss from Triple-A Tacoma.
The 23-year-old infielder has hit .220/.292/.356 with a homer, seven RBI and five stolen bases in 67 plate appearances with the M’s so far this season. He’ll add speed off the bench for the Mariners and provide infield depth while Jorge Polanco continues to battle a knee issue. Cade Marlowe was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding move on Wednesday.
