Cardinals claimed RHP Roddery Muñoz off waivers from the Marlins.
Muñoz gives the Cardinals some added pitching depth, but it’ll likely be in the minors. The 24-year-old postered a 6.53 ERA over 82 2/3 innings for the Marlins in 2024.

Marlins optioned RHP Roddery Muñoz to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 24-year-old right-hander was knocked around for six runs on seven hits over 1 1/3 innings against the Rockies on Tuesday and that appears to have been the final straw. Muñoz posted a 6.53 ERA, 1.59 WHIP and a 70/42 K/BB ratio over 82 2/3 innings in 18 appearances (17 starts) for the Marlins — allowing a league-leading 26 home runs. He’ll continue to refine his craft at the Triple-A level.

Roddery Muñoz allowed six runs on seven hits in 1 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Tuesday.
The Rockies blitzed Muñoz with four runs on two home runs in the first inning before adding another two-run home run in the second inning to chase him from the game. He can thank the Rockies bullpen for allowing him to escape without taking a loss. The 24-year-old now has a 6.53 ERA on the year and is not a recommended add in any formats.

Roddery Muñoz struggled in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday, surrendering three runs on five hits across 3 1/3 innings of work.
The 24-year-old right-hander also issued three free passes on the evening while striking out three batters. The Diamondbacks scratched out a run against him in the opening inning and then Jake McCarthy tagged him for a two-run blast in the third inning. Muñoz got six swings and misses on 73 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll tote an uninspiring 5.98 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and a 70/41 K/BB ratio (81 1/3 innings) into Tuesday’s matchup against the Rockies at Coors Field. It goes without saying, but fantasy managers should be avoiding that start like the plague.

Roddery Munoz was hit hard in a losing effort against the Mets on Friday, surrendering five runs (four earned) on five hits over his 3 1/3 innings of work.
On the plus side, Munoz did manage to punch out five batters while issuing three free passes. Munoz had allowed just one run through his first three frames, but the Mets tagged him for four runs while chasing him in the fourth — including a two-run blast by Jeff McNeil. The 24-year-old hurler generated 13 swings and misses on 93 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. He’ll carry an uninspiring 5.88 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 67/38 K/BB ratio (78 innings) into Wednesday’s start against the Diamondbacks.

Roddery Muñoz gave up three runs over five innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Padres.
Someone has to take the ball for Miami these days and Muñoz has done an admirable job over the past few weeks gobbling up plenty of frames. He managed to keep the ball in the yard in this one and struck out three batters without handing out a free pass. He’ll face the division-rival Mets on Saturday at Citi Field his next time out. He’s not a recommended option for fantasy managers at this time.

Roddery Muñoz was lit up for six runs (four earned) over 3 2/3 innings on Monday in a loss to the Reds.
Muñoz surrendered seven hits, including homers to Elly De La Cruz and Noelvi Marte as he was unable to complete four frames in his shortest outing of the year. The 24-year-old rookie right-hander has been hit extremely hard in his first extended chance at the highest level, but the rebuilding Marlins don’t exactly have anyone else to turn to at the moment as they continue to play out the string. He’s not a recommended fantasy option if he’s given another turn in Miami’s starting rotation.

Marlins recalled RHP Roddery Muñoz from Triple-A Jacksonville.
Someone has to pitch for the Marlins following their fire sale at Tuesday’s trade deadline. Muñoz was shipped back to the minors last Friday after a handful of rough starts, but he’s going to get another opportunity over the final two months now that Miami has almost nothing to play for.

Marlins optioned RHP Roddery Munoz to Triple-A Jacksonville.
The 24-year-old hurler was rocked for six runs over five innings in a no-decision against the Orioles on Thursday and that appears to have been the last straw for him in the Marlins’ rotation. He’ll work through his issues at the Triple-A level for the time being. Max Meyer will be recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to start for the Marlins on Saturday.

Roddery Munoz allowed six runs in five innings and got a no-decision against the Orioles on Thursday.
Munoz gave up six hits, walked two and struck out three. He was hit hard as three of the six hits he allowed left the yard. It’s the third time in his last seven appearances that Munoz has allowed at least three home runs. He has a 5.61 ERA on the year. The 24-year-old right-hander is set to face the Rays on the road next week.
