Scott pitched just 7 1/3 innings of relief at the major league level this season. The 30-year-old left-hander owns a 4.04 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 53/27 K/BB raito in 55 2/3 career big league innings.

Scott, who spent parts of 2016, 2017 and 2018 in the Red Sox pen, has been a non-factor this year, pitching 3 2/3 innings in the majors and giving up two runs. He’s a fair option against lefties, but there aren’t many teams wanting to use a spot on specialists these days.

Scott allowed two runs over 3 2/3 innings during his brief time with the big club. He should return when rosters expand.

Scott has spent all of this season in the minors, posting an ugly 6.95 ERA at hitter-friendly Reno. He’ll work in middle relief.

It looks like Marc Rzepczynski has made the team as the second lefty in the bullpen. Scott had a solid spring, but having options worked against him here.

The Reds designated the 29-year-old left-hander for assignment last week, so rather than letting him walk away for nothing they at least got some cash in return. Despite a rough 2018 campaign, Scott has a good chance of securing a role in the Diamondbacks’ Opening Day bullpen.

The 29-year-old southpaw was claimed off of waivers from the Red Sox earlier this month, but after Friday’s mega-deal with the Dodgers, the Reds needed to clear some room on the 40-man roster. Despite a rough 2018 campaign, Scott should still generate interest on waivers as a dependable left-handed bullpen arm that posted a 1.86 ERA for the Red Sox over 45 appearances in 2017.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic previously reported that Scott was on his way to the Red Sox, but it turns out that it’s a straight waiver claim. The 29-year-old southpaw struggled with an 8.10 ERA in nine appearances with the Red Sox in 2018, but he posted a 1.86 ERA over 45 appearances and had a good year in the majors in 2017. He’s a decent enough flier for Cincinnati’s bullpen.

No word yet on the return. The 29-year-old only made eight appearances with the Red Sox this past season, but he had a good year out of the bullpen in 2017 despite some issues with the home run ball. He’ll provide some depth for his new club.

The Red Sox are desperate for another reliable left-handed arm in the bullpen, and they’re hopeful that the 27-year-old southpaw can give them a boost. He owns a 2.54 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 73/14 K/BB ratio across 78 innings at Triple-A Pawtucket this season.
