Glendinning was released by the Orioles earlier this week, just a few months after being acquired from the Royals in a trade, and didn’t take very long to find a new home in Philadelphia. • Royals signed INF Robbie Glendinning to a minor league contract.
Glendinning spent the last two seasons playing for the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League. He also underwent Tommy John elbow reconstructive surgery last year, but is fully healthy now. The 26-year-old infielder was a 21st-round selection of the Pirates back in 2017 and spent three years in their minor-league system, finishing up at Double-A Altoona in 2019. He’ll augment the Royals’ organizational infield depth this upcoming season.
