Rhys Hoskins exercised his one-year, $18 million player option for 2025.
No surprise here. Hoskins was not going to get that kind of salary on the open market after hitting .214 with 26 homers and a .722 OPS in his first season with the Brewers. The 31-year-old will be the everyday first baseman for Milwaukee in 2025.

Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in an 8-4 win over the Mets on Friday.
Hoskins lives to destroy the Mets. He launched a first inning grand slam after a questionable ball-four put Willy Adames on base ahead of him. That moment of weakness was all Hoskins needed to cast the Mets’ playoff hopes further in doubt. The homer was his 26th in just 130 games this season. Yet, that’s been the extent of his production with a .215/.303/.422 slash line.

Rhys Hoskins drove in three runs to help the Brewers beat the Diamondbacks 10-9 on Sunday.
This was a game that the Brewers trailed 8-0 in the third inning. It’s the fourth time in Milwaukee history that they’ve come back from such a deficit. Hoskins played a big part in that with a two-run single to tie the game at 9-9, and he scored the winning run on a single from Jake Bauers. Hoskins first season with the Brewers has been uneven with a .233/.299/.415 slash, but he has driven in a respectable 77 runs.

Rhys Hoskins went 0-for-3 with three strikeouts against the Diamondbacks on Saturday.
Hoskins hit .246, .245 and .247 over the last three years so it’s disappointing for fantasy managers that he’s hitting .211 this year. Hoskins had a hit in six of his last seven games and was 7-for-21 (.333) in that time entering play Saturday. Unfortunately, Hoskins seems destined to finish the season with an average in the .210s and an OBP below .300.

Rhys Hoskins went 2-for-3 with a solo homer and a double in the Brewers’ 2-1 win over the Phillies on Wednesday.
Hoskins took Aaron Nola deep for a solo homer in the fifth inning to tie the game at one run until the Brewers would walk it off in the bottom of the ninth. It was his second extra-base hit in the game after knocking a double in the second inning. The 31-year-old slugger is hitting .212/.299/.417 with 25 homers and 74 RBI across 486 plate appearances.

Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-3 with a walk and a two-run home run against the Diamondbacks on Friday.
Hoskins’ home run was his 24th of the season. He hit a two-run shot off Eduardo Rodriguez in the fourth inning. Those were the only runs for the Brewers on the night, but that was enough for Milwaukee to get the win. Hoskins is 4-for-30 (.133) so far in September, but has two home runs. He’s hitting .207 with a .703 OPS and 73 RBI on the year.

Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 with an RBI on Sunday against the Rockies.
Milwaukee couldn’t get anything going in this one. They had just three hits, none for extra-bases, and scored their lone run because of a two-out error by Ryan McMahon. Hoskins did drive that run in though as he tries to pull himself out of a miserable months-long stretch. His OPS is just .657 since the All-Star break.

Rhys Hoskins homered and drove in four runs in an 11-3 rout of the Athletics on Friday.
The homer was a three-run shot that turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead in the second inning. He picked up his fourth RBI — and 64th of the season — with a sac fly. Hoskins first year with the Brewers can be called a relatively successful one even with just a .217 average, as he’s hit 21 homers with the aforementioned RBI.

Rhys Hoskins hit a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning to give the Brewers a 1-0 win over the Reds on Saturday.
Hoskins took Tony Santillan deep in the eighth inning to give the Brewers a 1-0 lead and ultimately a win. That’s the 20th homer of the season for the first baseman, and the 59th RBI in the process. Hoskins hasn’t helped much in the average category with a .231 mark, but he’s helped compensate with the aforementioned pop.

Rhys Hoskins went 1-for-4 and slugged a solo homer on Saturday as the Brewers fell to the Nationals in Washington D.C.
Hoskins tagged right-hander Derek Law for his 386-foot solo shot in the seventh inning, pulling the Brewers to within four runs at 6-2. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the afternoon which included a pair of strikeouts. He has had a pretty underwhelming season overall, slashing just .220/.305/.443 with 19 long balls and 57 RBI.
