Guardians signed 1B Rhys Hoskins to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 32-year-old slugger had a down year for the Brewers in 2025, slashing an underwhelming .237/.332/.416 with 12 homers and 43 RBI in 328 plate appearances. Still, he clubbed 25 or more home runs in each of his previous five full seasons and adds some legitimate right-handed thump to the Guardians lineup. He’ll earn a salary of $1.5 million if he makes the big league roster.

Brewers declined their $18 million mutual option on 1B Rhys Hoskins for 2026.
Hoskins hits the open market after a bizarre final season in Milwaukee where he missed nearly the entire second half with a sprained thumb and ostensibly lost his starting job to Andrew Vaughn while on the shelf. He’ll have some appeal as a viable short-term stopgap first baseman this offseason, but his days as a mixed league starter in most fantasy formats are probably over.

Jacob Misiorowski is officially on the Brewers’ NLDS roster.
Misiorowski’s role heading into the postseason remains a bit unclear following his late-season struggles. However, the hard-throwing 23-year-old and fellow former top prospect Robert Gasser are expected to factor greatly into Milwaukee’s pitching plans with veteran Brandon Woodruff (lat) out of the mix. Jose Quintana, Quinn Priester and Chad Patrick are also on the roster as starting options in the best-of-five series against the division-rival Cubs. The other notable development is Andrew Vaughn getting the nod with Rhys Hoskins being left off the roster entirely.

Brewers activated 1B Rhys Hoskins from the 10-day injured list.
Hoskins returns to Milwaukee’s lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Rangers following a two-month absence recovering from a left thumb sprain. The 32-year-old power-hitter has supplied 12 round-trippers in 82 games this season. The interesting wrinkle here is that the Brewers are holding onto Andrew Vaughn as a bench bat instead of sending him packing.

Rhys Hoskins (thumb) has rejoined the Brewers ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Rangers.
The expectation is that Hoskins will be activated for Tuesday’s game in Texas, according to MLB.com’s Adam McCalvy. The 32-year-old run-producing first baseman has been on the shelf since early July recovering from a left thumb sprain. His return likely spells the end of the rollercoaster Andrew Vaughn era at the cold corner in Milwaukee.

Rhys Hoskins singled and walked Thursday in his 13th rehab game with Triple-A Nashville.
Hoskins is obviously ready to return from his thumb injury, but the Brewers haven’t been in any hurry to find a role for him. Maybe that will change if Andrew Vaughn continues to slump, but Vaughn did have three hits Thursday after being held out of the lineup the previous two games.

Rhys Hoskins, on the IL with a sprained thumb, went 2-for-4 and homered Wednesday in the second game of his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Brewers try to squeeze Hoskins in with Andrew Vaughn seemingly having supplanted him at first base. They’ll probably give Christian Yelich some more outfield time, but they’re not going to risk overworking him there just to get a little more offense in the lineup. Hoskins figures to spend the rest of the week in the minors before any tough decisions have to be made.

Rhys Hoskins (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Nashville.
Hoskins has been out of action since the early portion of July, so the 32-year-old will likely need a good number of games before he’s clear. If there are no setbacks, the right-handed slugger should rejoin the Brew Crew at the end of August.

The Brewers are hoping to have Rhys Hoskins back from his sprained left thumb in the second half of August.
Hoskins was placed on the injured list on Monday after getting hurt because of a bad throw to first during Sunday’s game. Andrew Vaughn and Jake Bauers are filling in for him at first base. Given the rough timeline of at least six weeks, Hoskins can be safely dropped in most fantasy formats.

Brewers placed 1B Rhys Hoskins on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left thumb.
Hoskins will probably miss at least the rest of July after getting hurt because a bad throw from Joey Ortiz led to an awkward tag at first base. Jake Bauers and Andrew Vaughn could platoon at first base, though Vaughn will probably see time against righties, too, when Bauers is in the outfield.
