Orioles and INF Ramon Urías avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year, $3.15 million contract.
The 30-year-old infielder filled in admirably when he was needed during the 2024 campaign, slashing .254/.322/.423 with 11 homers and 37 RBI in 301 plate appearances. It’s going to take a long-term injury or two in the O’s infield for Urías to see regular playing time and have any sort of fantasy relevance in 2025.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Orioles activated 3B Ramón Urías from the 10-day injured list.
Since Jordan Westburg is also being activated, Urías probably won’t have a regular spot all to himself. Still, the Orioles might give him quite a bit of time over Jackson Holliday, with Westburg probably playing second. Before going down with a sprained ankle on Aug. 31, Urías was playing regularly at third base in Westburg’s absence and excelling.

Coby Mayo will be optioned to Triple-A Norfolk, according to Rich Kubatko of MASN Sports.
Ramon Urias is expected to come off the injured list. Mayo was on the bench for the Orioles’ last two games. He was 4-for-41 (.098) with no home runs and no RBI with Baltimore.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Orioles manager Brandon Hyde mentioned that he “wouldn’t be surprised” if Ramón Urías (ankle) is back in the Orioles lineup before Jordan Westburg (hand).
It’s not a surprise considering Urías is coming back from a sprained ankle and Westburg is coming back from a fractured right hand. Hyde mentioned that both players will need “multiple games before returning” to the Orioles’ lineup, but fantasy managers in weekly waiver leagues could find some value in adding either player on Sunday night since it seems like they should be back at some point next week.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Ramón Urías (ankle) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.
Urías will be joined by Jordan Westburg on the assignment. Urías will likely need a couple of games before he’s deemed ready to roll, and should see starts in the infield once he’s back. His real-life value to Baltimore doesn’t carry over to fantasy formats.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Ramón Urías ran the bases before Tuesday’s game against the Giants.
Urías is working his way back from a sprained ankle that has sidelined the 30-year-old since the start of September. It sounds like he’s not far away from being activated, and he likely will get some starts around the infield over the final week-plus when he does get back on the field.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Ramón Urías said he’s making steady progress from the sprained ankle he suffered last week.
Urías hopes to resume baseball activities in a couple of days. He won’t return when first eligible on Wednesday, but he might not miss much additional time.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Orioles placed INF Ramón Urías on the 15-day injured list with a right ankle sprain.
Urías suffered his ankle sprain during Saturday’s game against the Rockies. The 30-year-old infielder will miss at least the next week-plus with the injury. Top hitting prospect Coby Mayo has been recalled from Triple-A to take Urías’s place on the roster.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Ramón Urías suffered a sprained ankle during Saturday’s game against the Rockies.
Urías was spotted on crutches walking through the Orioles’ locker room after the game. He’ll be re-evaluated on Sunday but it’s possible that he’ll end up requiring a trip to the injured list. Fantasy managers should be sure to check on his status prior to Sunday’s contest.
  • BAL Shortstop #29
Ramón Urías was removed from Saturday’s showdown against the Rockies due to an apparent ankle injury.
The injury occurred when Ezequiel Tovar slid into Urías while stealing third base in the seventh inning. He was replaced by Emmanuel Rivera. Expect him to undergo further evaluation and likely imaging to rule out any potential fractures. Stay tuned.
