    Payton Henry was released from a Syracuse area hospital on Saturday.
    Henry was stretchered off and transported to a local hospital after being struck in the head by a backswing during Friday’s game for Triple-A Buffalo against Syracuse. The 26-year-old backstop is doing well as he rests and recovers, according to a team statement. The 26-year-old backstop signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays last December as extra organizational catching depth.

    Blue Jays signed C Peyton Henry to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
    The 26-year-old catcher spent last season with the Brewers organization, hitting .294/.341/.454 with nine homers across 255 plate appearances at Triple-A Nashville. He will add depth at the catching position in the upper minors for the Blue Jays.

    Henry spent five years in the Brewers system before being traded to the Marlins in July 2021 for John Curtiss. The team will probably acquire another catcher to replace Omar Narvaez this winter, but if not, Henry would battle Alex Jackson for a gig backing up Victor Caratini. Batista, 17, hit .252/.348/.333 in the Dominican Summer League last season.
