Patrick Corbin was charged for four runs in 5 1/3 innings while not factoring in the decision against the Royals on Thursday.
This was likely Corbin’s final start in a Washington uniform, and unfortunately, it went about the same way it has over the last few years. He allowed six hits with one walk and struck out three, but his offense was able to do enough to keep him from picking up a loss. Corbin will be a free agent at the end of the year, and he’s looking at a very limited market; possibly one that sees him needing to settle for a minor-league deal with a chance to make a team as the fifth starter.

Patrick Corbin allowed five runs in 4 1/3 innings of work to pick up a loss to the Cubs on Thursday.
Corbin allowed a pair of runs on a two-run blast by Seiya Suzuki, but he was consistently in trouble with eight hits allowed in the contest. The 35-year-old was at one point one of the best left-handed pitchers in baseball. He’s now someone you should look to stack your lineup against. Time is not always kind. Corbin’s final start of 2024 is scheduled to be against the Royals next Thursday.

Patrick Corbin allowed one run with six strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Marlins on Saturday.
Corbin had an excellent outing against the Marlins on Saturday. He tossed a clean first inning, then gave up a run on a double and a base hit in the second. Corbin scattered just one more hit and one walk over four more scoreless innings, striking out six on his way to a win. The 35-year-old left-hander will take a 5.45 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, and a 132/52 K/BB ratio across 165 innings into a start against the Cubs in Chicago on Thursday.

Patrick Corbin was tagged for seven runs in six innings Sunday in a loss to the Pirates.
Joey Bart, Andrew McCutchen and Michael A. Taylor all took him deep. Corbin had won three starts in a row, and the loss today was his first since he fell to 2-12 on Aug. 5. Even so, he’s now back alone atop the NL in losses. Teammate Jake Irvin and the out-of-action Dakota Hudson have 12 defeats apiece.

Patrick Corbin struck out eight and allowed two runs over 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday in a win over the Marlins.
Seriously, what year is it? Corbin has reeled off three consecutive quality starts since August 22, notching at least six strikeouts in all three of those outings. The 35-year-old southpaw had little trouble carving up Miami’s rebuilding lineup, managing to avoid serious damage despite allowing seven hits and also handing out three free passes. He generated 15 swinging strikes and finished with a 32 percent CSW. We’re hesitant to endorse him as a viable streaming option, but he’s in line for a decent matchup on Sunday against the Pirates at pitcher-friendly PNC Park. Are you feeling lucky?

Patrick Corbin fired six shutout innings on Tuesday in a win over the Yankees.
Corbin came into this one with one of the highest ERA’s of any qualified starter this season, so naturally he completely shut down a sizzling-hot Yankees lineup an outdueled reigning AL Cy Young Award winner Gerrit Cole. Of course. Makes perfect sense. He struck out six and only issued a pair of walks. He’ll face the free-falling Marlins on Tuesday in his next outing.

Patrick Corbin struck out eight while throwing six innings of one-run baseball in a win over the Rockies on Thursday.
What year is it? Corbin was excellent — albeit against a not-so-good Colorado lineup — and didn’t give up a run until the sixth inning when he allowed a solo homer to Brenton Doyle. The left-hander still has a 5.73 ERA on the season and shouldn’t be trusted whatsoever whenever he takes the mound, but this was a nice nostalgia trip.

Patrick Corbin allowed two runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Phillies on Friday.
Corbin struck out two and walked two on the night and needed 96 pitches to get 13 outs. He did post a solid 24 percent whiff rate but the 22 percent CSW spoke to his larger command issues. The veteran has a 5.92 ERA and should not be trusted in fantasy leagues, even next week against the Rockies unless you’re in a really deep format.

Patrick Corbin surrendered four runs and eight hits in four innings against the Nationals on Saturday.
He struck out two and walked three. The rather early exit prevented Corbin from maybe dropping to 2-13 tonight. He’s certainly struggled in posting a 5.98 ERA, but this is just the fourth time in 24 starts that he’s failed to complete five innings.

Patrick Corbin allowed four runs in six innings and took the loss against the Giants on Monday.
Corbin gave up seven hits, walked one and struck out six. He allowed a solo home run to Tyler Fitzgerald in the first inning and a three-run home run to Matt Chapman in the third inning. That was the extent of the scoring off Corbin. He has a 5.88 ERA and has won only two of his 23 starts this season. The 35-year-old left-hander is set to face the Angels at home this weekend.
