Ozzie Albies delivered a two-run homer and a three-run double Monday in the first game of the doubleheader against the Mets.
He’s still finding his way right now, but given his career splits, Albies probably just needs to be a right-handed hitter going forward. Both his big hits today were righty-righty matchups, as he’s temporarily given up switch-hitting in his comeback from a fractured left wrist. It looked for a time like he’d be the hero in this one. It didn’t materialize in the end, but he certainly put in the effort. It’s his fifth career five-RBI game. Three of those have come against the Mets.

Braves activated 2B Ozzie Albies from injured list.
The plan is for Albies to exclusively bat right-handed upon his return to the lineup. While the Braves’ lineup hasn’t been released yet, expect him to be in there for Friday night’s game against the Marlins. Albies had been on the injured list since mid-July with a fractured left wrist.

Ozzie Albies went 2-for-3 with a homer and a walk for Triple-A Gwinnett in the first game of his rehab assignment.
Albies, who has temporarily given up switch-hitting to accommodate his fractured left wrist, didn’t get much of a chance to work on his righty-righty swing Tuesday. His single came off the rehabbing Braxton Garrett and the homer was off fellow lefty Josh Simpson. He’ll play again tonight before likely coming off the IL on Friday.

Ozzie Albies (wrist) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Triple-A Gwinnett.
It’s now confirmed that Albies will play Tuesday for the Stripers as he works his way back from his fractured left wrist. The 27-year-old will hope to play in two rehab games in Triple-A, and then could rejoin Atlanta for the weekend series against the Marlins in Miami. Albies plans to hit exclusively from the right side until his wrist is closer to 100 percent, but this is obviously someone worth adding back to your fantasy lineup if/when he is back with the club this weekend.

Ozzie Albies will play in rehab games with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Assuming his fractured left wrist poses no major problems, he’ll likely rejoin the Braves on Friday. The switch-hitting Albies plans to exclusively bat right-handed until his wrist is closer to 100 percent.

According to MLB.com’s Mark Bowman, Ozzie Albies (wrist) could begin a rehab assignment Tuesday.
The Braves have already said that Albies would return and hit only right-handed so that he can get back onto the field sooner. If the 27-year-old is able to play without enough pain over the next couple of days, he could possibly return to the Braves this week. Bowman suggests that could shift Whit Merrifield to left field.

Ozzie Albies said Friday that he wants to try to return from his fractured left hand in the near future while hitting right-handed exclusively.
Albies, normally a switch-hitter, said he’ll be able to play within the next week, if the Braves let him. He thinks he’ll need just one rehab game. Apparently, he didn’t at all like Brian Snitker saying Friday that he was iffy for the rest of the season.

Braves manager Brian Snitker said he’s not sure whether Ozzie Albies will be able to make it back from his fractured left wrist before the end of the season.
Albies is working out and hitting, but he’s still dealing with soreness, particularly when he tries to hit left-handed. It’s unclear if the switch-hitter is considering trying to return as a right-handed batter only. It sounds like the Braves would let him try it if he wants. It’s typically been far and away his better side anyway. He’s even gone 5-for-14 with three homers on the very rare occasions when he has hit right-handed against a righty.

Ozzie Albies is having trouble swinging left-handed as he rehabs a fractured left wrist.
Albies has typically been much better hitting right-handed in his career, and it’s possible he could return strictly as a right-handed hitter initially, Still, that decision doesn’t need to be made now. He’s probably still a couple of weeks away from being a candidate to come off the IL.

Ozzie Albies (wrist) has resumed fielding drills.
Albies has yet to be cleared to resume batting practice, but has resumed swinging a bat as he works his way back from a fractured left wrist that sent him to the injured list roughly six weeks ago. The -year-old fantasy stalwart, who was originally expected to miss roughly 6-8 weeks, is going to need a minor league rehab assignment before making it back to Atlanta. He should be ready to make it back before the end of the regular season.
