Athletics placed RHP Osvaldo Bido on the 15-day injured list.
No injury designation has been given, but there’s a good chance he won’t be back until 2025 regardless of the severity. The right-hander showed real flashes while in the rotation, and had a 2.36 ERA over his last six starts with Oakland. He won’t be a player drafted highly in 2025, but it’s not hard to see him having some value next year as a streamer.

After being skipped in the rotation, Osvaldo Bido pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts in relief Saturday against the Tigers.
Bido was originally expected to start today, but the A’s decided to slot in Brady Basso instead. It sounds like Bido will go back into the rotation next week, though there isn’t much info being passed around about the A’s right now. Bido did struggle in his start Monday, but he was great in August; even with the shaky outing against the Mariners, he has a 2.36 ERA in his last six starts.
  • OAK Starting Pitcher #45
Osvaldo Bido allowed four runs over 5 1/3 innings on Monday in a no-decision against the Mariners.
Bido served up a two-run homer to Seattle backstop Cal Raleigh in the opening frame, but was mostly able to avoid hard contact otherwise as the Mariners generated just one additional extra-base hit. He struck out four and only issued one walk. The 28-year-old righty continues to hold his own at the highest level, looking like a potential back-of-the-rotation innings-eater moving forward. The lack of big-time strikeout upside limits his fantasy appeal to deeper mixed leagues, but he’s been pretty consistent for a few months now. He’ll square off against the Tigers on Saturday in his next outing.

Osvaldo Bido allowed two runs over six innings on Wednesday in a no-decision against the Reds.
It’s probably time for fantasy managers to start taking Bido seriously as he continues to string together impressive outings at the highest level. The unheralded -year-old righty carried a no-hit bid into the fifth inning before finally relenting a harmless one-out base hit to Spencer Steer. He finished with five strikeouts and didn’t hand out a free pass. He’s taken full advantage of his opportunity with the rebuilding Athletics of late, registering a stellar 3.21 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 56/24 K/BB ratio across 56 innings (14 appearances, eight starts). He’ll square off against the division-rival Mariners on Tuesday in his next outing.

Osvaldo Bido yielded one run over five innings on Thursday in a win over the Rays.
Bido’s 18-inning scoreless streak was snapped in the fourth inning when José Caballero scalded a run-scoring double to left field with two outs in the frame. He finished with six strikeouts and only issued three walks. The unheralded 28-year-old righty has been an unexpected bright spot for the rebuilding Athletics, compiling a sparkling 3.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 51/24 K/BB ratio across 50 innings (13 appearances, seven starts). At this point, we’re inclined to trust him as a viable streaming option when he faces the Reds on Wednesday in his next outing.

Osvaldo Bido threw six scoreless innings while allowing just one hit in a win over the Athletics on Saturday.
Bido struck out six and walked two. The right-hander was sensational again, and this makes back-to-back scoreless affairs and the third straight start he’s been able to complete six innings. Impressive, but it’s a little hard to take too seriously just yet. He’ll try and prove doubters wrong again next week against the Rays.

Osvaldo Bido struck out five over six scoreless innings on Saturday in a win over the Blue Jays.
Bido scattered two hits and one walk over six frames to open the contest, combining with reliever Scott Alexander, Tyler Ferguson and Mason Miller on a two-hit shutout. The 28-year-old righty is making the most of his opportunity with the Athletics, posting a strong 3.92 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 39/19 K/BB ratio across 39 innings (11 starts, five appearances). He’ll square off against the Giants on Saturday in his next outing.

Osvaldo Bido lost to the Dodgers and allowed three runs — two earned — in six innings on Sunday.
Bido did his part today, but the A’s lost 3-2 anyway. There’s probably not any fantasy value here, but Bido has been effective in two of his three starts since moving into Oakland’s rotation. He’ll face the Blue Jays next.

Osvaldo Bido was hit hard in Sunday’s loss to the Angels, giving up seven runs on six hits across his 3 2/3 innings of work.
Woof. The 28-year-old hurler also issued four walks on the afternoon while racking up six strikeouts. After navigating two scoreless innings to start the game, the Angels scratched out three runs in the third inning and added four more in the fourth on a grand slam off the bat of Taylor Ward. Bido generated seven swings and misses on 79 pitches on the day, posting a CSW of 28 percent. After this disaster, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the A’s turn back to Joey Estes or Hogan Harris in their rotation for next week’s start against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Osvaldo Bido allowed one run on four hits in five innings in a win over the Astros on Tuesday.
It was only Bido’s second start of the season and his first since May 8th, but the 28-year-old acquitted himself well. He didn’t walk a single batter while striking out six and inducing eight whiffs on 40 swings for a 20 percent whiff rate and 21 percent CSW. While it wasn’t an overpowering performance, he commanded his slider and cutter well and was able to pitch his way out of trouble. He’s lined up to start against the Angels this weekend and could be a viable streamer in deeper formats.
