Brewers transferred Oliver Dunn from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
It’s a procedural move to clear space on the 40-man roster. Dunn has been on the injured list since June 27 with his back injury, and he’ll now not be eligible to come off that list until near the end of August.

Brewers optioned INF Oliver Dunn to Triple-A Nashville.
The 26-year-old infielder has struggled in his time with the Brewers this season, hitting just .221/.282/.216 with one homer, seven RBI, three swipes and a 40/6 K/BB ratio over 104 plate appearances. He’ll see if he can get back track while playing every day at Triple-A. Tyler Black was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.

Joey Ortiz is not in the Brewers’ lineup on Tuesday as he is undergoing testing on his hamstring.
Ortiz is being examined today after missing yesterday’s game with a sore right hamstring. Since the Brewers have an off day tomorrow, Ortiz being on the bench on Wednesday allows him to have more rest. We’ll likely know more about his status after the game today. Oliver Dunn is starting at third base for Ortiz on Wednesday and batting eighth.

Willy Adames is hitting fourth and playing shortstop Sunday against the White Sox.
Both Adames and William Contreras were originally scheduled to get their first day off of the season. Nope. The new lineup has Adames in his usual spot at shortstop, and Contreras is hitting second and catching. Kinda weird, but it keeps the streak going for both. Andruw Monasterio and Oliver Dunn were scratched from the lineup, but this does not appear to be injury related.

Brewers recalled INF Oliver Dunn from Triple-A Nashville.
Dunn is back from Nashville with Joey Wiemer heading down to Triple-A in the corresponding move. He’ll get the start at third base and hit eighth against the Red Sox on Sunday. Dunn hit .226/.278/.333 in his first stint in the majors, but he did show some flashes in the early portion of the campaign. That being said, he’s not worth a fantasy roster spot right now.

Brewers optioned INF Oliver Dunn to Triple-A Nashville.
Dunn got some time as the Brewers’ leadoff man last month, but he wound up hitting a modest .226/.278/.333 in 90 plate appearances during his first stint in the majors. There’s still some hope for him as a platoon option at second or third, but he needs to shed some strikeouts; he had a 39% K rate his first time around the league.

Joey Ortiz is not in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Cubs.
Ortiz also was out Saturday, so the infielder stays on the bench to begin at least one more game. Oliver Dunn is starting at third base in Ortiz’s place. This is something to keep an eye on moving forward.

Oliver Dunn is not in the Brewers’ starting lineup for Wednesday night’s tilt against Hunter Greene and the Reds in Cincinnati.
No word on any sort of injury being at play, so it looks to be a regular day of rest for the 26-year-old infielder. Joey Ortiz will start at the hot corner and bat eighth for the Brewers while Jackson Chourio slides back up to hit out of the leadoff spot in the lineup.

Oliver Dunn went 2-for-4 with a triple and a steal as the Brewers’ leadoff man Sunday against the Mariners.
Dunn probably still isn’t going to play against lefties, but that he’s leading off versus righties might give him some short-term value. That he’s running certainly helps. He was 16-for-21 stealing bases in 119 games in Double-A last year.

Oliver Dunn hit a solo homer and drove in two runs while going 2-for-4 with a stolen base in a victory Friday for the Brewers over the Mariners.
Dunn was excellent Friday, and he blistered a solo homer off Logan Gilbert in the fourth inning. That’s the first MLB homer for the 26-year-old, and his steal also is his first at the highest level. Dunn came into 2024 without fanfare, and while there’s reason for skepticism, he’s certainly looked the part in the early portion of the season.
