Here are the Mets and Royals lineups for Game 1 of the World Series in Kansas City:
METS:
RF Curtis Granderson
3B David Wright
2B Daniel Murphy
CF Yoenis Cespedes
1B Lucas Duda
C Travis d’Arnaud
LF Michael Conforto
SS Wilmer Flores
DH Kelly Johnson
SP Matt Harvey
Mets manager Terry Collins is opting for Kelly Johnson as the Game 1 designated hitter, preferring his left-handed bat over Michael Cuddyer’s right-handed bat or the defensive upgrade involved in using Juan Lagares in center field with Michael Conforto at DH. Rather than alter the usual batting order Collins has Johnson batting ninth.
ROYALS:
SS Alcides Escobar
2B Ben Zobrist
CF Lorenzo Cain
1B Eric Hosmer
DH Kendrys Morales
3B Mike Moustakas
C Salvador Perez
LF Alex Gordon
RF Alex Rios
SP Edinson Volquez
As he’s done all postseason Royals manager Ned Yost is sticking with the same lineup and batting order. Aside from working without a designated hitter for the upcoming games in New York, don’t expect any changes from Yost.
