If you follow me on Twitter, you’ve probably seen me tweet about this ad nauseam, but it is my duty to share this and spread the Gospel of Andrelton Simmons as far and as wide as possible. Someone on YouTube did yeoman’s work and put together 25-plus minutes of defensive highlights involving the Braves shortstop during the 2013 season.
You’ll want to watch this video with a box of tissues nearby. Because his defense will make you cry. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
My favorite play of the whole montage, also depicted in the image to the right, occurs at 2:28.
Simmons went home with both a National League Gold Glove at shortstop and a Platinum Glove, both well-deserved. It’s going to be fun watching him play defense over the years.
