Red Sox prospect made a nice diving grab in center field to begin Friday night’s Grapefruit League game against the Yankees. Starter Rick Porcello had gotten ahead of outfielder Ramon Flores 0-1 before Flores laced a line drive to shallow left-center. Betts ranged over and made a diving snag for the first out of the game.

Betts, 22, entered the game batting .400 in 15 spring at-bats. He’s expected to serve as the starting center fielder for the Red Sox during the regular season. Rusney Castillo is still sidelined with a strained oblique and may not begin the season in the majors.
