This is not a repeat from his amazing catches last week, last month or last year. Really, Blue Jays center fielder Kevin Pillar makes so many great catches that we could do a sub-blog of just that and update more often than some general interest blogs do.
Last night during the fourth inning of the Dbacks-Jays game, however, Pillar made a body-sacrificing catch against the wall that was pretty special. Watch as he accelerates to a sprint as he gets closer to the wall. How many outfielders just shuffle-step that stuff in order to keep their body safe? Maybe they’re wise to do so -- Pillar took a beating when he hit that wall -- but his catch was definitely something to see.
