With MLB expected to put the hammer down by Monday for players connected to Biogenesis, Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez resumed a rehab assignment last night with Double-A Trenton.
Working his way back from what the Yankees determined was a Grade 1 quad strain, Rodriguez went 1-for-2 with a walk. It was highlighted by a mammoth two-run homer off Phillies’ prospect Jesse Biddle in the bottom of the third inning.

Considerably more cheers than boos on that one. Rodriguez appeared to really savor the moment. And why the heck not? If Bud Selig has his way, it could be his last home run ever.
