The Twins announced on Tuesday that third baseman Miguel Sanó has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to April 28, with a strained left hamstring. Infielder Gregorio Petit has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester.

It’s not clear exactly when Sanó suffered the injury. Presumably, it was on the 27th when he went 1-for-5 in a 15-9 loss to the Reds.

This season, Sanó is batting .213/.289/.450 with five home runs and 14 RBI in 90 plate appearances.

While Sanó has been absent, Eduardo Escobar has shifted from shortstop to third base, and Ehire Adrianza took over at shortstop. That figures to be the case until Sanó returns.
