We know the Tigers hired Ron Gardenhire to be their new manager and it’s been reported for a week that former Cubs pitching coach Chris Bosio would be hired to be their pitching coach, but the club made it all official yesterday, formally naming Bosio and naming the rest of the coaching staff for 2018.

Former Twins coach Steve Liddle will serve as Gardenhire’s bench coach, which is the same role he filled for Gardenhire for 11 years in Minnesota. Third base coach Dave Clark and hitting coach Lloyd McClendon will return to their posts. The Tigers are adding minor league hitting coach Phil Clark to the big league staff as an assistant hitting coach.

Former Tigers infielder Ramon Santiago re-joins the team its first base coach, which means that Omar Vizquel is out of a job. The Twins’ former bench coach Joe Vavra will serve as Quality Control coach and former Twins pitching coach Rick Anderson will be the bullpen coach.

Quite the Twins reunion. Here’s hoping they all go in the right door when the make their first road trip to Target Field.
