Other teams that have asked the Orioles about the availability of some of their players are getting the vibe that Baltimore is greatly concerned about stripping their roster to the point that they are concerned about being even worse down the stretch than they have been in the first four months. “I think they’re worried about being a 115-loss team,” said a rival executive.
If the Orioles are truly holding off on trading players who (a) have any trade value; and (b) have no real future with the team simply because they’d rather lose 105 games instead of 115, they deserve every stinking bad thing that has happened to them.
