Per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com, the Diamondbacks recalled Archie Bradley and Evan Marshall from Triple-A Reno on Sunday, and sent down Jake Barrett and Matt Buschmann. The D-Backs’ bullpen has been taxed as of late, so a pair of fresh arms could go a long way.

Bradley, 23, was rated the club’s second-best prospect coming into the season, according to MLB Pipeline. He’s made two starts thus far, yielding three runs on five hits and five walks with nine strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Gilbert notes that if the Diamondbacks don’t use Bradley out of the bullpen on Sunday, he could start on Monday against the Giants.

Marshall, who turns 26 years old on Monday, didn’t make the club’s roster out of spring training and has thus far given up four runs on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings at Triple-A. The right-hander was tragically struck in the head by a line drive last August while in the minors, so the fact that he’s back in the majors so quickly is terrific news.
