David O’Brien of the AJC reports that the Braves, on five occasions next season, will wear a special red jersey that honors the military. The script Braves across the chest will be blue with stars:

The jerseys will be worn on days that honor military families and will be accompanied by charitable efforts supporting veterans group.A bonus:

#Braves are dropping the red home jerseys they wore for Friday home games in 2013. Going with the white and the creme uniforms in ’14.

#Braves will wear the white home uniforms during week, creme-colored on weekends, and red military-themed jerseys for 5 home games.

I’ve hated the Braves in red jerseys since they were introduced. So now that they (a) will only be worn for good causes; and (b) will be worn less, well, that’s totally win-win. Plus we get way more of those sweet home alternates they wear, and that’s just grand.
