Brewers general manager David Stearns said yesterday that Ryan Braun had back surgery after the season ended, that it was successful and that the team’s right fielder is expected to be at full strength when the Milwaukee Brewers begin spring training following a three or four week recovery.
Braun, who suffered from chronic back pain in the second half, missed 14 of the last 18 games of the season. OVerall, however, he had a decent bounce back year in 2015, hitting .285/.356/.498 with 25 homers and 84 driven in.
He’s entering the first season of a five-year, $105 million extension he signed in 2011. Which is crazy in its own way.
