The Rockies have claimed pitcher Chris Rusin off of waivers from the Cubs, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Rusin was shuffled back and forth between Triple-A Iowa and the major leagues for the Cubs this season and will serve as rotation depth for the Rockies.
Rusin, 27, spent a majority of his season at Triple-A, posting a 4.31 ERA with a 97/38 K/BB ratio in 146 1/3 innings. He has compiled 108 2/3 innings in the majors, but hasn’t had a whole lot of success, as he owns a career 4.97 ERA.
