As expected, President Donald Trump attended Game 5 of the World Series between the Astros and Nationals in Washington, D.C. He was flanked by First Lady Melania Trump and the Secret Service, as well as a rather long guest list including Steve Scalise (R-LA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Lindsey Graham (R-SC). Trump’s initial entrance into the ballpark was barely noticed, as Jennifer Jacobs of Bloomberg News noted.
Trump was shown on the Jumbotron at Nationals Park before the start of the top of the fourth inning. He was very loudly booed. Some fans then started a “Lock him up!” chant, as the Washington Post’s Barry Svrluga observed.
