Orioles pitching prospect Dylan Bundy’s comeback from Tommy John elbow surgery has been put on hold due to shoulder soreness.
Bundy was scratched from his scheduled start at Double-A, but Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports that an examination “went well” and the Orioles are “hopeful it’s just a mild case of tendinitis.”
Bundy made his big-league debut in 2012 at age 19 and then ranked as the consensus No. 1 pitching prospect in baseball, but three years later he’s still trying to get back on track. For now he’ll rest and try to re-start his comeback next month.
Prior to being shut down Bundy was pitching well at Double-A with a 3.68 ERA and 25/5 K/BB ratio in 22 innings as a 22-year-old.
