Rangers outfielder Nelson Cruz was activated from the 15-day disabled list back on Tuesday, but he hasn’t started a game for Texas since and that isn’t expected to change until Saturday or Sunday.
This according to Randy Jennings of ESPN Dallas.
Cruz was on the disabled list for just over two weeks with a hamstring strain. He’s healthy now, but the Rangers currently hold a three-game lead over the Angels in the American League West standings and will use that cushion to their advantage by giving their injury-prone right fielder a bit of extra rest.
Cruz, 31, has batted .270/.321/.530 with 28 home runs and 84 RBI in 114 games this season.
