At a “State of the Nationals” forum for season ticket holders featuring principal owner Mark Lerner and general manager Mike Rizzo, Lerner drew loud applause by proclaiming, “We’re going to the World Series this year.”
Not that we can mock this kind of thing too much. Everyone and his brother will be making predictions for the 2013 season soon, and they’ll be just as likely to be right as Lerner’s here. And at least Lerner’s has the benefit of being based in part on emotion and positivity as opposed to faux wisdom.
