This might be the end of the line for former No. 3 overall pick and one-time stud prospect Corey Patterson, as the Mariners have released him from their Triple-A team.

Patterson signed a minor-league deal with Seattle last month, but the 33-year-old outfielder hit .175 with a 16/3 K/BB ratio in 19 games at Triple-A.

Baseball America‘s annual prospect list ranked him No. 3 in 2000 and No. 2 in 2001, but he’s a career .252 hitter with a .691 OPS in 1,230 games as a big leaguer and hasn’t played in the majors since 2011.
